Schlafly: Public Schools Change Young Evangelicals’ Values

Phyllis Schlafly
Human Events

Why did 18-to-29-year-old evangelicals vote for Barack Obama despite his apostasy on the fundamental moral issues of abortion and same-sex unions? They voted 32 percent for Obama, twice the percentage of that demographic group who voted for John Kerry in 2004.

Many of these young people identify “social justice” as the reason that led them to relegate the prime moral issues of life and marriage to the back burner. But the term “social justice” does not define a moral cause — it is left-wing jargon to overturn those who have economic and political power.

What caused young evangelicals, the children of the so-called “religious right,” to change their moral imperatives so dramatically? Most likely it’s the attitudes and decision-making they learned in the public schools, which 89 percent of U.S. students attend.

More

I know first hand this is without a doubt true, having taught in public schools for most of 20 years.  The curriculum is anti-American, socialistic, and very, very anti-Christian.  You can’t even dare to say the word ‘Jesus’ or ‘Christ’ unless you are cursing and then it is OK.  Even if you are a conservative Christian educator who wants to blunt the effectiveness of the Left’s campaign to overthrow America and its values, it is nearly impossible because all the odds are stacked against you, from parents, lawyers, the ACLU, administrators, School Boards, State Boards of Education, the US Dept. of Education.

Everybody had their little hand in the pie to keep the liberal, socialist mindwashing coming.  And even if they don’t they are so very afraid of liberals’ lawsuits that they don’t do anything to fight it, they just go with the flow and let the Left take over and run everything.  I can’t really fault them for that, odds are that if they decided to defy the Left and the liberals in power, they would lose in court and lose their jobs and livelihoods.  The Left has such a stranglehold on the education system, trying to pry it lose would be like trying to pry a boa constrictor from its prey once it has wrapped itself around it.

The only solution I could ever find was to pretend to toe the line but to use my influence in subtle ways to diminish the devastating attacks of the liberal curriculum so as to not anger the upper management, i.e. principals and the school board, or bring any liberal parents or lawyers down on me.  I was able to find covert and stealthy ways to buck the system to try to instill and reinforce traditional values and subvert the anti-American, anti-Christian brainwashing program mandated by the state and the school district to some degree without getting caught, or reported in any case.  I could give examples of how to accomplish this under the table but then it would turn into another long post, or any even longer one anyway.

Just suffice it to say Mrs. Schlafly is 100% correct, if your kids are in public school they are undergoing liberal, socialist indoctrination on a scale that would make Big Brother in Orwell’s ‘1984’ proud, I know because I was inside the system.  If you don’t take my word for it, read your child’s textbooks, go observe some classes, or just start asking the child questions of what he is being taught.  The answers might shock you.

Kincaid: Should Palin Be Conservative Of The Year?

By Cliff Kincaid
December 30, 2008

The influential conservative newspaper Human Events has named Alaska Governor and Republican vice-presidential candidate Sarah Palin “Conservative of the Year.” For embracing the vocation of motherhood and articulating conservative Christian views as a political figure, she deserves the title. But it turns out that she is not so conservative on some critical economic and international issues.

We had asserted during the campaign that “Palin is a target and possibly in harm’s way because she is being perceived as someone who can take a bold stand against George Soros and his nightmare vision and turn the country around on such critical [culture of life] issues.” Soros is a major funder of the Democratic Party and its causes, including abortion and homosexual rights. Soros also funds groups promoting legalization of drugs and rights for prostitutes and criminals.

Very eye-opening article on Sarah Palin.  While she is wonderful as a social conservative, which is the number one consideration for any political candidate for me, it would appear that she needs to become more fiscally conservative as well.  Especially with this treaty of the sea thing.  A true, 100% conservative would never give away any national rights or resources to the corrupt, Godless UN.

For even if you are the best and most socially conservative candidate available, if you are not fiscally conservative enough, it only hurts your social values goals in the long run.  Obviously the ideal candidate would be someone who combines not only exceptional social values but firm fiscally conservative values as well.  Off hand I can’t think of anybody that describes today.  The last one of those I think went out of office about the time the first George Bush did.  Of course Reagan was the embodiment of what I am talking about.

Limbaugh: Biden’s Bogus Feud With Cheney

By David Limbaugh
December 30, 2008

If Vice President-elect Joe Biden were slightly less enamored with his own voice he might not confuse himself so often on issues that matter so much, such as his views of presidential and vice presidential authority.

We’ve all heard about Biden’s feud with Vice President Dick Cheney over Cheney’s supposed view of executive authority relative to the other branches of government and Cheney’s view of the vice president’s role.

These happen to be two separate issues. Whether the president encroaches on the constitutional authority of the other branches is a different issue from whether the vice president oversteps his bounds inside the executive branch, or in his limited role in the legislative branch.

More

Biden is just as much a fool, an idiot, and a hypocrite as his boss Hussein is.  Who cares what this blowhard says?  He will never be half the VP Cheney was.  The way he misspeaks he will probably end up being the Court Jester in the Hussein reign.  By the way has anybody come up with a nickname for him like Nobama, Hussein, Pelousy, or Hellary?

Towery: Next Version Of Republican Party Can’t Be Timid Nor Intimidated

By Matt Towery
December 30, 2008

In a column praising the choice of former Republican Congressman Ray LaHood as Barack Obama’s choice to serve as Secretary of Transportation, longtime Washington Post political columnist David Broder had some pretty harsh, and in my view, inaccurate, things to say about the so-called “Republican Revolution” of 1994. He seems not only to recall it as a period of “scorched earth politics,” but also suggests that congressional Republicans are now dominated by “right-wing Southerners who care not what their stance does to harm the national party’s image.”

Broder prominently references Newt Gingrich in his column. Beyond his description of Gingrich’s “scorched earth” tactics, he notes that Ray LaHood “witnessed but didn’t welcome the Gingrich ‘revolution’ in the House” in the mid-1990s.” The essence of Broder’s commentary is that LaHood represents a more moderate and reasonable Republican; one who is more acceptable to the public these days.

More

a more passive GOP today is the only way to give Republicans hope for electoral success going forward.”

Can anybody scream, “NO!” loud enough to debunk this idea?  Being passive and timid is a large part of what weakened and destroyed the Republican Party of late.  As the first Pres. Bush fatefully learned, yet the morons who lead the GOP today cannot get or understand, is that trying to be civil and cooperate with the wolves and vultures who run the Dimocrap party is nothing more than a recipe for disaster.  McCain was the biggest fool of all who believe that and look what happened to him.  Loser with a capital L.

The Dims intensely feel that their way is the only way, there is no compromise or discussion, even within their own ranks.  The only thing they understand is power which is achieved by brute force.  The GOP must understand that the only way to meet and defeat brute force is with even more brute force.  Playing nice doesn’t cut it in football or politics.  Nice guys finish last, if they finish at all.  The overwhelming advance of liberals and socialists in taking over our culture is an example of the failure of the idea of playing nice to get along and not opposing anything for fear of being labeled or ostracized.

The so-called “scorched earth” tactics of Gingrich and Reagan were successful in holding back the tide of the liberal onslaught as long as they played hard and tough, but by the rules, to thwart the ambition of the Left to conquer and then destroy what America is.  When the tough guys left, the GOP became a party of wimps and appeasers, kind of like Neville Chamberlain, who in order to keep the peace and politely appear to cooperate with their enemies on the Left, appeased them and then got burned.  And that left us with what we have today, a Party cut off at the knees, fighting amongst itself, and wandering lost in the wilderness.  We desperately need more warriors like Gingrich and Reagan to rise up and lead us back to victory again.

Number of uncounted ballots in Minn. still unclear

By BRIAN BAKST
Associated Press
December 30, 2008

ST. PAUL, Minn. (AP) — The campaigns of Republican Norm Coleman and Democrat Al Franken wrangled Monday over hundreds of unopened absentee ballots that could still tip Minnesota’s Senate race.

Lawyers ended a testy public negotiation session convened by the secretary of state’s office without agreement on which ballots to open or how many should be under consideration.

That leaves the heavy lifting to a series of regional meetings that begin Tuesday. The ballots that make the cut at those meetings will be opened in St. Paul by Monday.

Those ballots are important because Franken leads Coleman by just 47 votes after the manual review of more than 2.9 million ballots.

More

I’ve about resigned myself to the fact that we’re going to lose this one.  Frankenstein, the Dims, their lawyers, Georgie Soros, the liberal, biased, tainted judiciary, they are all going to combine forces and steal this election for Frankenstein.  They will never stop, never give up until they win.   It is gloves off, no holds barred cage fighting.  All I can say is thank God for Georgia so that we at least have the 41 seats instead of 40.  This recount in the Soviet Socialist State of Minnesota reminds me of a rigged election in a Third World banana republic where they don’t stop counting until they get the result they want, or if failing that, just say it is what they want it to be, whether it is in truth or not.

Moonbat McKinney’s boat turned back by Israeli Navy

Israel Matzov

The yacht carrying former US Congresscritter and Green Party Presidential candidate Cynthia McKinney tried to outmaneuver an Israeli navy gunboat off Gaza Tuesday morning. The yacht rammed into the Israeli gunboat, which then turned it around and sent it back to Cyprus.

Foreign Ministry spokesman Yigal Palmor said the boat ignored an Israeli radio order to turn back early Tuesday. He said the boat tried to outmaneuver the navy ship and crashed into it, lightly damaging both vessels. The navy then escorted the boat to the territorial waters of Cyprus.

Protest boat organizer Derek Graham said the Israeli ship “rammed” the protest boat.

More

In my opinion Israel is a well run country.  They know how to defend themselves and police their borders.  I wish our Coast Guard and Border Patrol was as efficient in turning away unwanted visitors from our shores and borders.  Way to go, Israel, and kick some Palestinian terrorist butt.

Pharmacists sue IL governor over right of conscience

One News Now

Illinois pharmacists have been granted legal permission to challenge Governor Rod Blagojevich’s executive order that forces them to dispense “emergency contraception” against their wills.

medication pillsThe pharmacists sued because the order violated their religious beliefs against selling certain abortifacients like the “morning-after pill.” Brian Rooney of the Thomas More Law Center explains why the pharmacists filed suit.

“There is a law in Illinois that allows pharmacists and pharmacies to allow their rights to conscience to take precedence over these kinds of things,” he notes.

Hopefully they won’t have to deal with this morally bankrupt and politically corrupt governor much longer.  This piece of garbage belongs behind bars.

Blagojevich defies Senate, names Obama replacement

By DEANNA BELLANDI
Associated Press
December 30, 2008

CHICAGO (AP) — Defying U.S. Senate leaders and his own state’s lawmakers, Gov. Rod Blagojevich on Tuesday appointed former Illinois Attorney General Roland Burris to replace President-elect Barack Obama in the U.S. Senate. Blagojevich, accused of trying to sell Obama’s Senate seat to the highest bidder, praised the 71-year-old Burris’ integrity and asked that the corruption allegations not “taint this good and honest man.”

“The people of Illinois are entitled to have two United States senators represent them in Washington D.C.,” Blagojevich said. “As governor I am required to make this appointment.”

Burris, standing at the governor’s side, said he’s eager to get to work in Washington. He said he has no connection to the charges against Blagojevich, who was arrested on Dec. 9 and accused of trying to profit from appointing Obama’s replacement.

More

I agree it will be very interesting to see how this turns out and how the Dimocraps handle one of their own caught in a web of his own doing.  Frankly I am surprised they are not rallying around and defending Blago like they have so many times before, when they circled wagons and threw up a wall to protect their own, such as Slick Willie and Jefferson, despite the obvious crimes and lies perpetuated.  I think they were caught off guard by Blago’s indiscretions and didn’t have time to figure out a plan of defense so they had to go with the flow and play it by ear and now it is coming back to bite them in the butt.  Like it has been said, they had no mercy for Republicans caught in illegalities and compromising positions so what will the bloody hypocrites do with their own?

I noticed this story didn’t mention the fact that Burris has given money to Blago like another story I read, although the amount is chicken feed compared to other deals Blago has made to sell his services in return for money.

Text Rip-Off? Pricey Messages ‘Cost Virtually Nothing’ to Carriers

Fox News

In the past few years, people seem to be forgoing the conventional phone conversation to punching in short text messages on tiny keypads, all while mobile phone carriers have cashed in lucratively.

In 2008, 2.5 trillion messages were sent from cell phones worldwide, up 32 percent from the year before, according to the Gartner Group and reported by The New York Times. But, what also rose in the last three years was the price — doubling from 10 to 20 cents per message while the industry consolidated from six major carriers to four.

Sensing a potential rip-off, Wisconsin Sen. Herb Kohl, the chairman of the Senate antitrust subcommittee, began to take a closer look at the doubling of prices American carriers were charging customers.

Sen. Kohl soon discovered that text messages are essentially very small files, costing carriers close to nothing to transmit.

More

I, for one, have never understood the fascination for texting in the first place.  If you’ve got the phone in your hand, why not just call and talk to a real person, instead of trying to key in words on some tiny buttons.  At the very least you can leave a message using only your voice.  To me the effort required to text isn’t even worth it, especially given the cost, when all I have to do is punch a few buttons to really talk to a live person, like people used to.  I think texting is part of the desocializing of people today, kind of like email and automated switchboards.  These people  would rather write a message than talk to another human being.  Texting is evil and should be outlawed.  J/K.

Texas coach Mack Brown criticizes report about Lufkin recruit

11:12 PM CST on Monday, December 29, 2008

By CHUCK CARLTON / The Dallas Morning News

PHOENIX – Texas coach Mack Brown was critical Monday of a New York Times story which detailed the recruiting of prize defensive tackle Jamarkus McFarland of Lufkin.

McFarland chose Oklahoma over Texas, orally committing on Christmas Day. While Brown declined any comment about McFarland and his family, he questioned the fairness of the reporting.

“One-sided stories usually don’t make it when sources aren’t checked on the other side,” Brown said after Texas landed in Phoenix in preparation for the Jan. 5 Fiesta Bowl against Ohio State. “The story has absolutely no credibility with me because the writer did the same thing exactly last year, and it’s obvious he has an agenda, in my mind, against Texas.”

http://www.dallasnews.com/sharedcontent/dws/spt/stories/123008dnspofiestanotes.3e2afca.html

Hm, two anti-Texas Football stories in two years?  If that is not an agenda, I don’t know what is.  And failure to check the other side for their version of the story is absolutely incompetent journalism.  How this turd of an author got this fictional fantasy of story past an editor does not speak well of the newspaper.  But wait, it was the New York Times, that bastion of journalism integrity.  No wonder an unverified story got printed as fact.  The NYT has no more credibility as a newspaper than the National Enquirer.  In fact, the NE has more.

A lot of stuff here and some long responses to make up for taking the Christmas holidays off.

RNC pushes unprecedented criticism of bailouts

Washington Times

In what would amount to a slap in the face to a sitting Republican president and the party’s Senate and House leaders, national GOP officials, including the vice chairman of the Republican National Committee, are sponsoring a resolution opposing the resort to “socialist” means to save capitalism.

“We can’t be a party of small government, free markets and low taxes while supporting bailouts and nationalizing industries, which lead to big government, socialism and high taxes at the expense of individual liberty and freedoms,” said Solomon Yue, a cosponsor of a resolution that would put the RNC — the party’s national governing body — on the record as opposing the U.S. government bailouts of the financial and auto industries.

Republican National Vice Chairman and constitutional law attorney James Bopp Jr. authored the resolution and is asking the rest of the 168 voting members of the committee to sign it.

More

It’s about time one of our so-called leaders actually woke up and smelled the coffee.  Still it’s too little, too late.  The best it could do now is maybe oppose more bailouts.  It is also odd that the Washington Times removed the article.  I wonder what is up with that, too much good press for Republicans so it had to be pulled?

Cash-strapped states weigh selling roads, parks

By MARTIGA LOHN
Associated Press
December 29, 2008

ST. PAUL, Minn. (AP) — Minnesota is deep in the hole financially, but the state still owns a premier golf resort, a sprawling amateur sports complex, a big airport, a major zoo and land holdings the size of the Central American country of Belize.

Valuables like these are in for a closer look as 44 states cope with deficits.

Like families pawning the silver to get through a tight spot, states such as Minnesota, New York, Massachusetts and Illinois are thinking of selling or leasing toll roads, parks, lotteries and other assets to raise desperately needed cash.

More

I used to live in a conservative state that knew how to manage its money an order of several magnitudes better than the Federal Government, called Texas.  I feel Texas would be much better off to secede and go it alone than have to go down with the ship when the US tanks with its unmanageable debt.  I read somewhere that Texas has enough oil resources to last the state itself for something like 260 years so it doesn’t really need the US and it is a net loser when it comes to calculating federal taxes paid minus federal government services rendered.  So in my opinion, Texas really has no good reason to remain attached to the US and be dragged down when the ship goes under.  If Texas seceded from the evil America I bet it would have instant friends all over the world for standing up to the evil Americans.  Even though I don’t live there anymore I’ll always be a Texan first and an American second.

But back to the matter at hand, the new state where I live, Florida is considering leasing toll roads such as Alligator Alley to private companies and let them run it, take it in the tolls, and maintain it, while keeping a profit for themselves, I suppose thinking that private enterprise can run and maintain a toll road better than the state highway department.  The only problem is that Alligator Alley is really Interstate 75.  I have read where other states up north have begun or are considering charging tolls on interstates.  To me that is wrong.  My federal taxes already paid for that road and while it might be maintained by the state, it is the property of the United States and it should be free for anyone in the US to use.  If they want to charge a toll, let them build a toll road themselves and then they can charge whatever they want.

The above mentioned proposals to sell or lease government property or operations seems to be a continuation of the privatization or contracting out of formerly government run services which actually started a long time ago.  I used to work for a city in Texas back in the 80’s and I lost my city job because they contracted it out to save money on personnel, supplies, operation costs, etc.  I think the main cost was personnel.  With so many less employees they didn’t have to pay a salary for or pay for benefits, they thought they saved money.  Once that department was contracted out, the craze spread to other departments whose services were contracted out.  there is a city near me in Florida now that contracts out everything, and I mean everything, parks, water, police, fire, taxation, streets, waste.  The city of 60-70,000 has five city employees, because everything is contracted out, including city administration.  They hired a firm to administrate and manage their city for them.  Even the US Army contracts out services that used to be provided by uniformed soldiers both to save money and to have less men in uniform in support roles that could instead be fighting.  I think this is the wave of the future, more and more services that used to be provided by government employees will be contracted out to private firms until some local and state governments are like the city in Florida, just elected officials overseeing a bunch of contracts.  On the other hand I don’t think the Federal behemoth of a government will ever do the same.  It is such a monster already feeding ravenously that it has too much inertia to be parceled apart to private companies.  Can you imagine the Dept. of Education contracted out to some education foundation or firm?  Or the Dept. of Defense just maintaining a force of contracted mercenary companies?  Not very likely, although in the case of the Dept. of Education, that might not be such a bad thing as long as it is not a friend of Hussein’s company.

One last thing, it what has become a long post in addressing several different issues.  There could be a backlash by the public if the states, counties, and cities start selling or getting rid of too many public amenities that the public appreciates and wants to keep, like parks and recreation areas.  For example, the county where I live recently approved an amendment that forbids the county council from selling any parks or open land without the approval of the voting public.  I don’t know if this was a result of what is outlined in the article or if whoever thought up the amendment thought with the economy tanking and tax revenue plummeting, the council might take a look at this empty land that was bought to be a park and start thinking dollar signs and sell it to generate cash to balance the budget or continue to fund some unnecessary social program.

In summary, I’m mixed on the issue.  Some services would definitely be better if provided by a private firm that is looking to make a profit, and some services I would prefer still be maintained by a government that is responsible to the people who elected them.  Sorry I wrote so much, but once again I got carried away with the possibilities.

Parker: The awkward co-dependence of blacks and liberal Democrats

By Star Parker
December 29, 2008

What does Caroline Kennedy have in common with black America? If your answer is not much, I’d tend to agree with you.

When I think of Caroline, I think of Manhattan and Park Avenue, not the Bronx and Brooklyn. I think of Brentwood and Beverly Hills, not Watts and South Central Los Angeles.

But there is something that Caroline and black America do have in common. The Democratic Party.

Whether Kennedy succeeds in her effo rt to slide into Hillary Clinton’s soon-to-be-vacated Senate seat will have little to do with her Democratic Party bona fides. Per her policy positions ticked off the other day, she is in perfect and predictable liberal alignment with party boilerplate. If she fails, it will be for reasons other than her views.

More

I, too, have for years been perplexed by the black people’s embracing of the Dimocraps when the Dims are so pathetically liberal in all things and the blacks are basically very much more socially conservative.  Case in point being the overwhelming opposition of African-Americans to Prop. 8 in California, yet they vote 90% for Hussein who supports gay rights.  Star is right that the GOP will never win them over with social issues because if we haven’t by now, with the Dims slanting so far to the left that they are about to teeter off the edge, then we never will.  I, too, came to the same conclusion that the reason the blacks love the Dimocraps so much is because the Dimocraps buy their love with expensive social programs that pass out money to the black people to redistribute the wealth, which does lead to a case of keeping them on the plantation with continuing welfare and give-away programs that they aren’t required to do anything to get.  With the free ride, they have no incentive to improve themselves, at least those that are trapped in the vicious cycle of the ghetto, not the increasing numbers of blacks that are assimilating into the middle class of America.

It was FDR who first started buying the black vote for the Dims with his New Deal and then JFK and LBJ close the deal with their Great Society.  Many blacks voted Republican because that was the party of Lincoln and the party that freed the slaves before the Dimocraps came along with their plan to buy the black vote with give-aways and free social programs that couldn’t have worked any better if they had wanted it to.  In the same way the Dims are currently blatantly buying the Hispanic vote with their embracing of the illegal alien crusade and promising to pen the borders and grant amnesty to the illegals already here.  Their plans work well.  Instead of trying to govern and be good stewards of the Republic, all the Dimocraps are interested in is keeping their hold on power by buying votes with taxpayer money they give away.  Somewhere else I read something to the effect that Democracy was dead when the voters figured out that they could vote themselves unlimited money out of the country’s treasury.  The Dimocraps figured that out years ago and are in the process of doing exactly that.  The only difference is that this is technically a republic so the voters have to elect those who will then give them unlimited money from the treasury.  That started with FDR and it only gets worse and worse and worse as the years go by.  Now we are so far in debt that we are at that theoretical point where democracy is dead because there is no more free money to vote out of the treasury because it is broke, or so far in debt that it might as well be.

Sherline: Is Health Care A ‘Right’?

By Harris R. Sherline
December 29, 2008

Here’s a hypothetical: Someone close to you has a very serious illness, diagnosed as terminal, say cancer, and the doctors are recommending aggressive treatment with chemo-therapy or radiology, or major surgery, or some combination thereof. What should they do?

On the surface, the answer may seem obvious: get the treatment, of course.

But, what if it produces extremely harsh side effects that are so debilitating the patient is barely able to function for weeks or months. And, although the treatment may buy the patient some time, perhaps a few months or a year, it is clear that the he or she will not live much longer. Add to the equation the fact that the care will cost $200,000 or $300,000, perhaps much more.

More

Apparently it wasn’t a ‘right’ before 1965 when the second great liberal giveaway of taxpayer funds began.  Now it is like a never-ending, constantly-growing, constantly-feeding monster created by LBJ and the Dimocraps, like so many others that are so bloated and overgrown feeding on the taxes of working Americans that it threatens to swamp the boat and send the US to the bottom of the sea.  Just another reason why socialism doesn’t work.  I always go by the mantra, if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it.  If it worked for nearly 200 years before, why did the liberal Dims think they had to fix it?  Like Dr. Frankenstein, they created a monster that they have no control over that devours dollars faster than they can be printed.  But do they care?  No.  they don’t have to worry about it, they’ve got enough money to buy their own good health care.  They just pass the problem and the debt on to the next generation who, if there is to be one, will be paying heavily nearly forever for the Dimocraps mistakes and lack of fiscal knowledge or restraint over the preceding generations.

Towery: Don’t Give Caroline Kennedy A ‘Bailout’

By Matt Towery
December 29, 2008

We saw what happened when the mighty and powerful captains of Wall Street and the big banks asked for a giant blank check from Congress. What was promised to be a stimulus to our economy turned out to be a money grab in which the banks can’t or won’t tell us how they are using the money. They aren’t making loans; they aren’t assisting families or small businesses. They’ve turned out to be arrogant parasites.

Now we’re getting the political equivalent of this with Caroline Kennedy, the lone surviving member of the family of John F. Kennedy. She has the audacity to come down off her lofty perch to essentially stage a public campaign to persuade New York Gov. David Paterson to appoint — make that anoint — her to the United States Senate. Sure thing.

More

I thought we fought a revolution to do away with inherited titles and aristocracy ruling over us.  But the Dimocraps seem determined on bringing it back, even though we threw out such things once, by anointing the Kennedy clan as their version of American royalty.  The sad part of it is that the entire Kennedy clan’s fortune that made them royalty was made by breaking laws.  All they are is descendents of criminals and outlaws, hardly the background of any aristocracy.  My dog is more qualified to be appointed to the Senate than Ms. Schlossberg, but since she is Dimocrap royalty she will get the seat.  Wait and see.  The Dimocraps live by the pay-back theory; they pay voters to elect them with free government give-aways of money and services and entitlement and social programs so they understand why Schlossberg feels she should be paid back for what her dear old departed daddy did for the Party, even though she personally had nothing to do with any of that.  All she has is a name.

Lamb: Global Warming: The New Eugenics

By Henry Lamb
December 29, 2008

Eugenics pioneer, Francis Galton, defined eugenics as: “the study of all agencies under human control which can improve or impair the racial quality of future generations.”

Global warming can be defined as: “the study of all agencies under human control which can improve or impair the environmental quality of future generations.”

The eugenics movement and the global warming movement are similar in many respects. Both ideas were introduced by scientists, advanced by politicians, popularized by the media, embraced as a moral necessity, resulted in severe consequences, and eventually rejected as harmful hogwash.

More

Global warming is the biggest farce and lie ever perpetuated on the world collectively at one time.  Just like liberalism is a religion to socialists and communist, Global warming is a religion to its maniacal adherents who, exactly like the rabid, radical, gay-rights zealots, will allow no dissenting viewpoint to even be thought, much less uttered, in their own fascist ways.  The sad part is that thanks to the fact that the biased, liberal, socialist media and the liberal socialist elite of the world buy into it so heartily and have so much power and influence over everyone else, including those who know better and those who oppose or dissent from the views, that they are able to completely brainwash everyone else into buying into the sham and the lie as well, and make it the law.  The Global Warming Gestapo doesn’t care about science or truth or justice, all they care about is grabbing and maintaining power and making outrageous amounts of money for themselves based on the Lie.

Some day, perhaps when we are in the next Ice Age caused by the Global Warming crowd’s efforts to alter the Earth’s natural rhythms of cooling and heating, these con-artists and carpet-baggers will be seen for the charlatans they are.  Too bad more people can’t see through the lies today and realize the truth before it is too late and the Global Warming disciples are able to ruin our planet both environmentally and economically, as well as creating a socialist/communist/fascist apparatus, either governmental or quasi-governmental, to carry out their foolish, wasteful, and irrational acts.

Jeb Bush Signals He’s Poised to Run

Jeb Bush Signals He’s Poised to Run
By: Dave Eberhart – Newsmax

Former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush has been busy testing the waters since Sen. Mel Martinez, R-Fla., announced earlier this month that he won’t seek reelection in 2010.

According to Politico, sources indicate the President’s brother hasn’t yet made a final decision, but Republican Party leaders are giving him a thumbs-up. And President Bush has already said his brother would make an “awesome” candidate and senator.

Having lived in Texas when George was governor and then moving to Florida when Jeb was governor I think I know a little bit about these two brothers.  Both were good governors and conservative while they were in office and both enjoyed high popularity in their respective states.  Then we know what happened when George became president.  However, I don’t think it is fair to Jeb to throw him under the bus just yet, just because of what his brother did.  His father was a good, conservative president, doesn’t that cancel out anything negative about the brother?  Would Jeb be more like his father or more like his brother?  Who knows?  Nobody can know but Jeb himself.  Just because you have issues with George II, just like I do, that is no reason to take it out on his brother.  You don’t know, you can’t know, what he would do or be like in Washington because he hasn’t even been there yet, but you are not willing to give him a chance?  Saying because George was not a good, conservative president, there is no way Jeb can be a good, conservative senator, is akin to saying since a black guy robbed a bank, all black people are bad, or since a white guy shot somebody all white people are bad.  Jeb is a different person, just like George I and George II were different people.  Give him a chance before you write him off.  I live in Florida and of all the possible candidates mentioned for a possible senate run that I am aware of, he is the most conservative of the bunch and as of today would get my vote.  Give Jeb a fair shake, then you can make a determination of whether he is worthy of a senate seat or not.  After all there is no way he can be much worse than what I’ve got representing me in the Senate right now from Florida.

Antle: Blackwell’s Back

By W. James Antle, III
American Spectator

For most of the past decade and a half, the Ohio Republican Party’s leadership was divided into two camps. There were the tax-and-spend Republicans who built solid GOP majorities throughout the state only to fritter them away through scandal, sclerosis, and a lack of economic solutions. And then there was Ken Blackwell, the government-cutting conservative thorn in the state party establishment’s side.

There was no love lost between the dominant faction and the odd man out. Blackwell was a persistent critic of Republicans in the mold of George Voinovich and Bob Taft, whom he accused of “campaigning like Ronald Reagan and governing like [1980s Democratic Gov.] Dick Celeste.” The Taft-Voinovich Republicans thought Blackwell too hard-edged for Ohioans’ tender Midwestern sensibilities and unready for primetime.

More

After reading this article I would seriously consider supporting Blackwell for RNC Chairman.  If he is what this writer says and implies he is, then he may be the real deal, in which case he would get my vote, if I had one.  We need more true Reagan Republicans, not more of the same old RINO and Dimo-lite party leaders we have suffered under for too long that have just about ruined the Republican brand.

Abortion industry asks Obama for billions in funding

One News Now

A major abortion provider wants taxpayers to fork over more money, even while the economy is down.

Over 50 pro-abortion groups have submitted a 55-page wish list called “Advancing Reproductive Rights and Health in a New Administration” to the incoming Obama administration. Jim Sedlak of American Life League’s (ALL) Stop Planned Parenthood, or Stopp International, has tallied the cost.

“They want unfettered abortion. They want the government paying for all of its programs,” he contends. “In fact, [if] you total up everything that they’ve asked Obama for, Planned Parenthood and their friends want the taxpayers to give them $4.6 billion next year.”

More

Planned Parenthood (and all other industrial abortion providers) = Murder, Inc.

They are no different from any other organized criminal gang, they are just the Mafia of Murdering Innocent Children.   The only problem is they are legally legit and will get more and more legit and powerful with Abortion Merchants like Hussein and the Dimocraps, who owe them, in power.

Murder, Inc. needs to be stopped and shut down immediately.  It is a completely outrageous travesty of justice that my tax money goes toward killing innocent babies and there is nothing legal I can do about it except write to my representatives, which is like trying to convince the dead they are alive, or suing in a court dominated by liberal trash like the ones that allowed this legalized murder to begin in the first place.  With few exceptions, the world today is no friend of the unborn.

RNC members call unprecedented special meeting

The Hill

For the first time in party history, members of the Republican National Committee have called their own unscheduled meeting without the aid of the Washington-based party apparatus.

Organized by North Dakota Republican Party chairman Gary Emineth, the meeting will convene for the specific purpose of hosting a forum for candidates running to chair the national committee. Members will meet at an as-of-yet-undecided location in Washington on January 7.

The unscheduled and unexpected meeting, plans for which were first reported by The Hill, was called by Emineth and 21 other RNC members from 18 states, according to a memo from the RNC counsel’s office. Party rules stipulate a meeting must be called by at least 16 members from 16 different states.

More

I believe this could be a good thing and a warning to those in the party that want to maintain the status quo of losing.  We definitely need new leadership and perhaps this is a way to get a better chairman than by the usual method of backdoor deals and calling in favors.  This is more transparent and might give the real, true conservative a better chance to unseat the liberal RINO’s that run the party now.  It can’t get much worse.  I might be speaking optimistically but this might be the first opening salvo in the true conservative base in attempting to retake control of the party from the moderates who have allowed the ship to drift way off course.

Dictator Stalin voted third-greatest Russian

By DAVID NOWAK
Associated Press
December 29, 2008

MOSCOW (AP) — Television viewers have voted Soviet dictator Josef Stalin — who sent millions to their deaths in the Great Purge of the 1930s — Russia’s third-greatest historical figure.

Rights activists have blasted Stalin’s inclusion in the 90-day, nationwide project by the state-run Rossiya channel. They say authorities are trying to gloss over Stalin’s atrocities and glorify his tyranny.

The project, called “The Name of Russia,” culminated with the announcement Sunday night that Russian medieval leader Alexander Nevsky had been voted the greatest Russian, with more than 524,000 Internet and SMS votes. Stalin garnered more than 519,000 votes, and even led in early voting.

More

If this doesn’t show how warped, twisted, wacko, ignorant, blind, bloodthirsty, and perverted the Russian people are, nothing does.  We are dealing with a nation of psychos here if they admire this brutal, bloody, tyrannical dictator so much.  This would be like the US voting Charles Manson the third most admired American, or Germany voting Adolf Hitler the third most admired German.  Although I really wouldn’t put that past the Germans either, as a people they are nearly as psychopathic as the Russians.

Israeli troops mobilize as Gaza assault widens

By IBRAHIM BARZAK and KARIN LAUB
Associated Press
December 29, 2008

GAZA CITY, Gaza Strip (AP) — Israel widened its deadliest-ever air offensive against Gaza’s Hamas rulers Sunday, pounding smuggling tunnels and a central prison, sending more tanks and artillery toward the Gaza border and approving a reserves callup for a possible ground invasion.

Israeli leaders said they would press ahead with the Gaza campaign, despite enraged protests across the Arab world and Syria’s decision to break off indirect peace talks with the Jewish state. Israel’s foreign minister said the goal was to halt Gaza rocket fire on Israel for good, but not to reoccupy the territory.

With the two-day death toll nearing 300 Sunday, crowds of Gazans breached the border wall with Egypt to escape the chaos. Egyptian forces, some firing in the air, tried to push them back into Gaza and an official said one border guard was killed.

Go, Israel, go!  I really wish they could once and for all end the threat of Hamas forever.  But in this imperfect world that will never happen.  All Israel wants is to be left alone, all Hamas wants is Israel to be no more.  There is and never will be any compromise with Hamas.  They won’t quit until either they or Israel is dead.  I am reminded of a saying I heard once:  If the Palestinians had no guns there would be peace.  If Israel had no guns there would be no Israel.

Flight 93 families ask Bush to OK land seizure

By BOB LENTZ
Associated Press
December 29, 2008

PHILADELPHIA (AP) — Relatives of those who died aboard United Airlines Flight 93 want the Bush Administration to seize the land needed for a memorial where the plane crashed in Shanksville, Pa., in the 9/11 terrorist attacks.

The Families of Flight 93 sent a letter earlier this month asking President George W. Bush to empower the Secretary of the Interior to take the land in dispute from a homeowner who had been in negotiations with the National Parks Service, said Patrick White, vice president of the families’ organization.

The group says ground must be broken early next year in time for a memorial to be build for the 10th anniversary of the crash in 2011.

More

Even though I am sympathetic to the families there is no way I would ever be in favor of government seizure of land through imminent domain or any other method for any reason.  Having descended from grandfathers who were farmers and cattlemen, I know the soul of a man is in his land, hence the categorical antipathy toward government seizure of any type of property for any reason, even if the owner of the land is a corporation, as in this case.  We fought a war back in 1776 over government seizing private property of citizens, among other things.  I think it is just another aspect of socialism and communism when the government can take away your property and we have enough creeping socialism and communism taking over our country right now as it is, we don’t need more.

Tale Of Two Presidential Workout Fanatics
By Michelle Malkin
December 29, 2008

Ah, the perks of media affection. On Christmas Day, the Washington Post delivered a front-page paean to Barack Obama’s workout habits. The 1,233-word ode to O’s physical fitness read more like a Harlequin romance novel than an A-1 news article.

Sighed smitten reporter Eli Zaslow, “The sun glinted off chiseled pectorals sculpted during four weightlifting sessions each week, and a body toned by regular treadmill runs and basketball games.” Drool cup to the newsroom, stat.

I am so sick of the fawning, worshipping media making Hussein out to be a superhero or a god in everything that he does.  This just shows their undeniable bias and prejudice towards Bush when they criticize him for the very same things they fall all over themselves to praise Hussein for.  The media makes me sick and so does Hussein.

Somalia’s president quits after 4 years in office

By MOHAMED OLAD HASSAN
Associated Press
December 29, 2008

MOGADISHU, Somalia (AP) — The president of Somalia’s U.N.-backed government resigned Monday, saying he had lost control of the country to Islamic insurgents and could not fulfill his duties after four years leading the violent and impoverished nation.

Abdullahi Yusuf is the latest leader to have failed to pacify Somalia in two decades of turmoil and deadly violence. Somalia has been beset by anarchy, famine and a steady influx of weapons from abroad. More than a dozen attempts have been made to form an effective government since the last one collapsed in 1991.

Within hours of Yusuf’s resignation, mortars shells were raining down near the presidential palace in the capital, Mogadishu.

Another example of the conquer or die attitude of Islamic militants.  They never stop until they have totally conquered their objective or died trying.  Think of Al-Queda and the PLO or Hamas.  They will never stop until the world is Muslim or they are all dead in the first case, and until Israel is no more in the second.  Their conquer or die attitude makes them formidable foes.  There is no compromise or surrender, you either yield or you die, and they won’t stop until the last infidel is dead or converted.  It might be an un-Christian-like thought also, but the world would probably be a better place if there were no Muslims.

RNC candidate distributes controversial Obama song

The Hill

RNC candidate Chip Saltsman’s Christmas greeting to committee members includes a music CD with lyrics from a song called “Barack the Magic Negro,” first played on Rush Limbaugh’s popular radio show.
Saltsman, a personal friend of conservative satirist Paul Shanklin, sent a 41-track CD along with a note to national committee members.

“I look forward to working together in the New Year,” Saltsman wrote. “Please enjoy the enclosed CD by my friend Paul Shanklin of the Rush Limbaugh Show.”

The CD, called “We Hate the USA,” lampoons liberals with such songs as “John Edwards’ Poverty Tour,” “Wright place, wrong pastor,” “Love Client #9,” “Ivory and Ebony” and “The Star Spanglish banner.”

Oh, come on, get real.  It’s just a joke for Heaven’s sake.  And I think it’s funny too.  Has Political Correctness Bullsh gone so far that we can’t even laugh or tell jokes anymore?  After all a washed-up, has-been comedian is about to become a Senator from Minnesota.  I know I am in the smallest of minorities here but this only impresses me with Saltsman, and by association, Blackwell.  And I’m not a fraternity prankster or joker either.  What happened to the days when you could make fun of and laugh at your enemies?  I seriously think this PC bullsh has so infected the society of the US that it is pathetic, even among conservatives.  I’d like to hear more humor directed toward those who deserve it and not just on talk radio or in columns.  After all this was just supposed to be correspondence between friends and associates, not a policy statement or anything of the sort.  If this makes him crucifiable for an attempt at humor, then I suspect we all deserve it for making a joke in this category at one time or another.  Give the guy a break, its an attempt at humor, nothing more.  If the intended target of the humorous, satirical song was, say, Osama Bin-Ladin, instead of Barrack Hussien Obame, it would have been viewed as merely humorous, maybe tasteless, but still humorous.  But since the target was that fascist, communist, socialist icon, Hussein the media, who worships the ground the man walks on and bow at his feet and kiss is jackboots, and everyone else it seems, it is a big deal.  Get over it already, it was a joke, nothing more, nothing less.  If you can’t poke fun of and laugh at your enemies, who are you going to laugh at, yourselves?  And I’m not even going to get into the racial overtones of the thing and the two-faced, hypocriticalness of it all when blacks call each other far worse things than that literally ALL the time, in public, on CD’s, DVD’s, and mp3’s, in comedy bars, on cable TV, and so on.  In my opinion, this political correctness tyranny must end.

Did anybody even consider the point that he might not have even been aware this particular song was on the CD?  After all it had 41 titles on it, which is a lot for a CD, and even if some of them were in bold it would not have been too hard to overlook a few.  This reminds me of the vendor who got crucified for selling pins at the Texas Republican Convention that said, ‘If Obama wins, will they still call it the White House?’ or something to that effect and they kicked him out of the convention.  Yet his pins were one of the best selling items there.  That prove people like this sort of jocularity no matter how politically incorrect it is, even if they are afraid to admit for fear of being called a bigot among other things.  People get offended so easily today for things that they would shrug off and think nothing of not even twenty years ago.  It is sadly and definitely pathetic.

Report: Lufkin defensive tackle commits to Oklahoma

11:16 PM CST on Thursday, December 25, 2008

Lufkin High School’s Jamarkus McFarland, rated the nation’s second-best senior defensive tackle by Rivals.com, has orally committed to Oklahoma, according to The New York Times.

McFarland (6-3, 280) made his decision at 12:01 a.m. on Christmas Day, The Times reported, apparently ending a recruiting tug-of-war between the Sooners and Texas.

Oral commitments are nonbinding.

Orangebloods vs. the New York Times

Chuck Carlton

They say history is written by the winners.

In recruiting, the first word is often determined by the recruits and their families, simply because coaches can’t comment about high school players who haven’t signed national letters of intent. Lufkin defensive end Jamarkus McFarland and his mother provided exclusive access to the New York Times for an article on his recruiting.

Oklahoma, the school McFarland choose, came off quite well. Pretty much every other school involved took a beating, especially runner-up Texas.

So, in the interest of fairness, here’s a rebuttal by Geoff Ketchum, who runs Orangebloods, the Rivals.com website that covers Texas. Be prepared. It’s more than 4,200 words long but a good read. I don’t agree with all the points, but it pokes some holes in the Times’ account and adds pertinent info.

And while most Orangebloods material is for subscribers only, for now this is free on the site. Or it was for me.

http://collegesportsblog.dallasnews.com/archives/2008/12/orangebloods-vs-the-new-york-times.html

Only a complete fool or an idiot believes anything they read in the NYT.  It is a well known fact that the NYT is nothing more than a liberal, socialist, communist propaganda rag for the Dimocraps and Hussein Obama that prints fantasy instead of fact and fiction instead of truth.  The NYT makes the National Enquirer look like a Pulitzer Prize winning newspaper.  The NYT is based so far from reality and its reporting is so prejudiced and biased it is a total and complete lie to even refer to it as a “newspaper.”  Only a complete moron even reads the NYT much less believes anything printed in it.

To get the facts straight, go read this:

http://texas.rivals.com/content.asp?CID=893523

Then hopefully you will be able to see what a second class job of reporting and what a kindergarten level story this writer, who is from Oklahoma no less, wrote.  This Jamarkus is nothing more than a mama’s boy whose mama seems to control every aspect of his life so Texas is better off not having this cancer on campus with a fiddling mama that will get into everything, lie, make up, and fabricate stories like this.  If you read the article and you still believe the fantasy that is this story, I’ve got some ocean-front property in Oklahoma I’m dying to sell you.  It is real cheap, too, about as cheap as the shots McFarland’s mama and the reporter for the NYT took at Texas.

11-23-08 A Little Bit of Everything

December 24, 2008

Email to the Florida Congressional Delegation regarding the travesty of immigration:

It is absurd that you continue to support legislation that would import more foreign workers at a time of rising unemployment.

It simply makes no sense for our government to import around 140,000 foreign workers every month while our state’s unemployment rate exceeds even the national average. While some foreign workers certainly compete with highly skilled American professionals, most foreign workers compete directly in construction, service, and manufacturing industries where unemployment has been historically high and where the workers have a smaller margin of financial security.

I urge you to consider the troubles of America’s unemployed (and soon to be unemployed). Each unemployed American represents a family that has difficulty paying the mortgage and trouble putting food on the table. For their sake, please restrict America’s dangerous immigration policies.

Only a complete fool or an idiot would continue to allow workers, legal or illegal into the country at a time like this when MILLIONS of AMERICAN CITIZENS are out of work?  Are you such a fool and an idiot that you would allow this or are you a true American who puts the interest of the citizens who elected you ahead of those foreigners who have no need nor right to be in our country?  I sincerely hope not.  If you are that would make you completely worthless as a member of Congress and a traitor to the country and its people.

Surely even someone such as yourself is smart enough to see that ATTRITION is the only proven answer to the immigration problem that Congress is solely to blame for.

Surprise me and do the right thing for a change:  reduce legal immigration to zero, get rid of the illegals here already, provide jobs for unemployed citizens.  Thank you for your cooperation.

NO AMNESTY, NOT NOW, NOT EVER, FOR ANYONE.  NO INCREASE IN VISAS, SECURE THE BORDER, ENFORCE THE LAWS.  ATTRITION IS THE ONLY PROVEN ANSWER.

ACORN, Soros Linked to Franken Vote Grab

ACORN, Soros Linked to Franken Vote Grab
By: David A. Patten, Newsmax

Minnesota Secretary of State Mark Ritchie, who orchestrated the recount that gave Democratic challenger Al Franken a lead some six weeks after incumbent GOP Sen. Norm Coleman appeared to win by 725 votes on Election Day, has extensive ties to both the ACORN organization now under federal investigation for vote fraud, and to MoveOn.org ultra-liberal kingmaker George Soros.

In 2006, ACORN endorsed Ritchie in his bid to become secretary of state, and Ritchie also received a campaign contribution that year from Soros.

Indeed, Ritchie has credited his own political career in large part to an obscure, Soros-funded group called the Secretary of State Project (SoS), whose express purpose is to seed state election bureaucracies nationwide with partisan activists — Ritchie among them — who are strategically positioned to influence the outcome of close recounts like the one now underway in Minnesota.

If the Dimocraps can’t steal an election fair and square, then they will BUY it.  I really wish someone could do something to stop this gay billionaire Soros who is literally using his billions of dollars to buy America for the Libs, Dims, and Socialists, so ‘people’ like him can run everything and in so doing destroy the American way of life, and along with it, all conservatives and Christians.  Not only does Al Frankenstein be stopped, George Soros must be stopped.

Arabs lavish jewels on Secretary of State Rice

By MATTHEW LEE
Associated Press
December 23, 2008

WASHINGTON (AP) — President George W. Bush’s foreign policies may be unpopular in the Middle East, but Arab leaders showered his top diplomat with jewelry worth far more than a quarter of a million dollars last year. While Bush himself didn’t fare nearly as well, Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice raked in at least $316,000 in gem-encrusted baubles from the kings of Jordan and Saudi Arabia alone, making her one of top recipients among U.S. officials of gifts from foreign heads of state and government and their aides in 2007.

In January, Jordan’s King Abdullah II gave Rice an emerald and diamond necklace, ring, bracelet and earrings estimated to be worth $147,000, according to the State Department’s annual inventory of such items released Monday just in time for Christmas.

The king and his wife, Queen Rania, also gave Rice a less expensive necklace and earrings along with a jewelry box valued at $4,630, the document shows.

Too bad she doesn’t get to keep it.  I wish the Arabs were more generous with their oil and earnestness in the fight against terrorism than with jewelry.

Report: Obama’s Top Aide Spoke to Blagojevich

Fox News

The report was released Tuesday as an Obama transition official confirmed that Obama and two of his top aides, Rahm Emanuel and Valerie Jarrett, have been interviewed in connection with the federal investigation into Blagojevich.

An internal review prepared for President-elect Barack Obama says his incoming chief of staff had multiple conversations with Illinois Gov. Rod Blagojevich’s office, but no one close to Obama suspected that the governor might be trying to sell Obama’s Senate seat as prosecutors allege.

Official says Calif. could be broke in 2 months

By JUDY LIN
Associated Press
December 23, 2008

SACRAMENTO, Calif. (AP) — California’s chief financial officer warned Monday that the state would run out of money in about two months as hopes of a Christmas budget compromise melted into political finger-pointing by the end of the day.

Republican Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger began the day on a cheerful note, suggesting that negotiations with Democratic leaders could lead to a budget deal as early as this week to help close the $42 billion shortfall that is projected through June 2010.

“Yesterday we sat there for hours and we worked through it step by step and we made some great progress,” the governor said during a morning news conference in Los Angeles. “So we feel like if we do that two more times like that, I think we can get there … before Christmas Eve or Christmas Day.”

Serves Ahnold and Flower Child Brown and all the Libs and Dims in the Land of Fruits and Nuts right, who turned the State of California in the Soviet Socialist Republic of Kalifornia, about as liberal, socialist, and communist state as can be found in the US, with apologies to Illinois, Massachusetts, and New York.

I just sorely hope that the federal government will not bailout this humungous, horrendous, clusterflock of a state, in effect, rewarding them for their financial mismanagement and throwing away money on socialist programs.  It would not be fair to the states, like Texas, who wisely guarded their money and didn’t overspend to have to use money taken from those states to bailout Ahnold and the Flower Child, when they were irresponsible and socialistic.  But then again it wouldn’t surprise me if this is exactly what happens either.

Think of the money they are saving by not having to perform counterfeit marriages.

NY Times published fake letter from Paris mayor

By ANN LEVIN
Associated Press
December 23, 2008

NEW YORK (AP) — The New York Times admitted Monday it published a fake letter purportedly from the mayor of Paris criticizing Caroline Kennedy’s Senate bid as “appalling” and “not very democratic.”

“What title has Ms. Kennedy to pretend to Hillary Clinton’s seat?” the letter in Monday’s editions said. “We French can only see a dynastic move of the vanishing Kennedy clan in the very country of the Bill of Rights. It is both surprising and appalling.”

In an editor’s note posted Monday on its Web site, the Times said the letter signed by Paris Mayor Bertrand Delanoe should not have been published because it violated the paper’s standards and procedures.

Just another anecdote to prove that the NY Times is a joke of a newspaper and anyone who takes anything they read in this impersonation of a newspaper is as empty-headed as its editors.  This paper is not worth the paper it is printed on and makes the National Enquirer look good.  It is in fact so bad, they should pay YOU to read it instead of you buying it.  Not that I would ever even touch this paper except to put it on the bottom of a bird cage where it belongs, and then you wouldn’t be able to tell the paper from the bird droppings because they are one and the same.  I’ll be glad when this affront to journalism finally goes broke and ceases publication.

Sowell: Another Great Depression?

By Thomas Sowell
December 23, 2008

With both Barack Obama’s supporters and the media looking forward to the new administration’s policies being similar to President Franklin D. Roosevelt’s policies during the 1930s depression, it may be useful to look at just what those policies were and– more important– what their consequences were.

The prevailing view in many quarters is that the stock market crash of 1929 was a failure of the free market that led to massive unemployment in the 1930s– and that it was intervention of Roosevelt’s New Deal policies that rescued the economy.

It is such a good story that it seems a pity to spoil it with facts. Yet there is something to be said for not repeating the catastrophes of the past.

More

It makes me sad that history has been co-opted by the Left who rewrite it to suit their agenda without any regards for the truth whatsoever.  And it also makes me sad that Americans are so blind as to believe the lies from the Left instead of the real truths as revealed in history by people like Sowell and the researchers mentioned in the story.  And it really makes me mad that those on the Left will perpetuate the lie and repeat the proven failures of the past in order to take control of the US and keep their stranglehold on power, so deep is the pit of their corruption and lust for supremacy.  This includes not only repeated Roosevelt’s mistakes that virtually shut the country down for a few years but also in leading the slide to Socialism and Communism that has been undeniably proven by the failure of the USSR and the commercialization and free-market adaptations of China.

I wish more people knew the truth and would learn from the past without being lied to or believing the lies and preferring them in the face of the truth.  God help us, if we are going into the Second Great Depression thanks to the likes of Hussein, Pelosi, Reid, Frank, and all that sordid crew.  What we should have learned from the First Great Depression was that if left alone the market would have righted itself without need for intervention from the government and that the same intervention from dullard, bull-headed politicians not only made it far, far worse, they made the suffering last far, far longer.  But all they remember or know because that is what they have been taught by the liberals and socialist who have taken over the education system in the US is that the Republicans, greedy capitalist, and the Free Market caused the Depression and the Dimocraps and massive interventions by the government made it all better, even though history and the facts prove that is a lie.

Limbaugh: Beware Of Obama’s Middle-Class Task Force

By David Limbaugh
December 23, 2008

When you read reports that President-elect Obama is going to establish a “task force to assist middle-class families” and that incoming VP Joe Biden will be its point man, keep a very sharp eye on what’s going on here. It’s an appeal to form over substance designed to convince voters he cares so much that even if he fails, he should be lauded and, of course, re-elected.

Modern Democrats have perfected the art of political propaganda, as seen in their demonization of “the Bush economy” for most of Bush’s two terms despite the mostly positive economic numbers during that period. My guess is that under President Obama, they’ll seek to do the reverse, if necessary: wooing the public with constant overtures to “the middle class” designed to mollify it irrespective of actual economic conditions.

Hussein is a master of the Cult of Personality on a par with Hitler, Stalin, Mao, Amin, Castro, and Chavez, all of whom he shares much more in common than their ability to lie, spin, and brainwash the masses into doing things for the Leader that in both the long and short term will hurt the people and the country.  He is a master of deception that has already fooled much of the country in electing him but will continue to fool them into thinking and believing he is doing a good job no matter how bad things get or how much worse he and his policies make them, kind of like FDR.  When it comes to Hussein, I am reminded of a saying I heard from way back when I had a college summer job with a bunch of real working-class men, “Don’t believe anything you hear and only half of what you see.”

Biden’s ‘Working Families’ Task Force is Misnomer, Conservative Leader Charges

(CNSNews.com) – A proposed White House Task Force on Working Families is “payback” to Big Labor, according to Gary Bauer, president of American Values, a pro-family conservative group.

“That task force ought to be named the ‘White House Task Force on Unions,’” Bauer told CNSNews.com. “Clearly, the new president owes a lot to the labor movement in the country and to the big unions that provided him a lot of his money — and I think this task force will basically be dealing with issues that are near and dear to organized labor.”

Saunders: Free The Saddleback One

By Debra Saunders
December 23, 2008

Gay civil rights groups — the Human Rights Campaign and the National Gay and Lesbian Task Force — are calling on President-elect Barack Obama to yank his invitation to Saddleback Church pastor Rick Warren to give the inaugural prayer on Jan. 20. They demand tolerance from others, but won’t spare any for those with whom they disagree. Unless of course, that person is Obama, who, like Warren, opposes same-sex marriage. Then they get real ecumenical. Not to mention, very forgetful.

“I believe that marriage is the union between a man and a woman. Now, for me as a Christian — for me as a Christian — it is also a sacred union,” Obama said at a presidential candidate forum at the Saddleback Church in August. Obama could not make his opposition to same-sex marriage clearer.

It’s true that Obama opposed Proposition 8, the same-sex marriage ban approved by California voters in November, on the grounds that codifying a same-sex ban would be “divisive” — whereas Warren endorsed the measure.

Typical of the two-face hypocrisy of the gay movement.  They think they deserve equal rights to speak and disrupt non-gay functions to spread their sickness but when it comes to allowing other viewpoints to be heard, all that free speech rights crap goes right out the window.  The only voices they want to be heard are their own sick ones.  They are the prejudiced bigots who discriminate and hold contempt for those smart enough and moral enough to oppose them.  They want everyone to play by only one rule book, theirs.  I wish the whole world could see through their hypocrisy and know them for what they are, a rabid, crazed cadre of intolerant radicals bent on supremacy of their views no matter what the cost to them or anyone else.  To be intentionally politically incorrect (and I’ll say this while I still can before Hussein forms his Thought Police and Mind Crimes Squads), I wish I could go back in time to where they were still in the closet where they belong instead of all up in my face with their abomination and whiny demanding of ‘rights’ for their perversion.

Kennedy Declines to Make Financial Disclosure

NY Times

If she were applying to be, say, an undersecretary of education in Barack Obama’s new administration, Caroline Kennedy would have to fill out a 63-item confidential questionnaire disclosing potentially embarrassing text messages and diary entries, the immigration status of her household staff, even copies of every résumé she used in the last 10 years.

If she were running for election to the Senate, Ms. Kennedy would have to file a 10-part, publicly available report disclosing her financial assets, credit card debts, mortgages, book deals and the sources of any payments greater than $5,000 in the last three years.

More

So what if she is appointed, God forbid, she has to actually run for the seat in the next election she would still have to file the 10-part Senate report.  What has she got to hide in the meantime that she can cover up and clean up between now and then?  Personally I have had enough of Kennedys, a lifetime’s worth, and I wish they were more like the name of that punk band the Dead Kennedys and at the bottom of Poucha Pond by Chappaquiddick Island.

Black lawmakers irked by Obama’s diverse Cabinet

The Hill

Some members of the Congressional Black Caucus (CBC) are disappointed President-elect Obama did not appoint more African-Americans to his Cabinet.

Obama tapped four blacks for Cabinet posts, including Eric Holder. If confirmed, Holder will be the first African-American attorney general.

But Obama passed over black candidates in selecting Cabinet nominees for positions central to setting policy for urban America, such as the departments of Education, Labor, and Housing and Urban Development.

Hispanic Americans, by contrast, have been nominated for three Cabinet positions, and politicians from that constituency have hailed Obama’s nominations.

What did they want or expect, an all-black Cabinet?  Who are the racists now?

O’Sullivan: Conservative Snobs Are Wrong About Palin

John O’Sullivan
Wall Street Journal

Being listed in fourth place for Time magazine’s “Person of the Year,” as Sarah Palin was for 2008, sounds a little like being awarded the Order of Purity (Fourth Class). But it testifies to something important.

Though regularly pronounced sick, dying, dead, cremated and scattered at sea, Mrs. Palin is still amazingly around. She has survived more media assassination attempts than Fidel Castro has survived real ones (Cuban official figure: 638). In her case, one particular method of assassination is especially popular — namely, the desperate assertion that, in addition to her other handicaps, she is “no Margaret Thatcher.”

Very few express this view in a calm or considered manner. Some employ profanity. Most claim to be conservative admirers of Mrs. Thatcher. Others admit they had always disliked the former British prime minister until someone compared her to “Sarracuda” — at which point they suddenly realized Mrs. Thatcher must have been absolutely brilliant (at least by comparison).

More

These “conservative snobs” are nothing more than RINO’s intent on either destroying the Republican Party or transforming it into a clone of the Dimocrap Party, who should not even have any part in the GOP.  They need to go join the Dimocraps where they belong, both philosophically and physically.  Sarah Palin is better than the whole lot of them put together.

Clinton absorbs $13.1 million loan to campaign

By BETH FOUHY
Associated Press
December 23, 2008

NEW YORK (AP) — Hillary Rodham Clinton has written off $13.1 million in personal funds she lent her failed presidential campaign, new disclosure reports filed with the Federal Election Commission show.

Clinton loaned the money to her campaign in several installments last spring as she fought Barack Obama for the Democratic presidential nomination, a battle she ultimately lost.

The former first lady and New York senator has been working to pay down that debt to clear the way for confirmation as President-elect Barack Obama’s secretary of state. Federal ethics rules prohibit Cabinet officials from actively soliciting campaign contributions.

More

Yeah, whatever, she’ll be paid back in full in other ways by liberal and socialist interest groups for her service as SoS.  She’ll come out ahead, just like snakes and criminals always do.  Just ask her supposed ‘hubby,’ Slick Willie, as the donations have rolled in for him.

We’re No. 2: Horns pass Irish for all-time wins

Texas now ranks second in all-time programs wins, behind Michigan.

AMERICAN-STATESMAN STAFF
Tuesday, December 23, 2008

We’re No.2!

That’s not something you hear shouted very often or very loudly, even if it is a pretty sweet spot to be in the BCS standings.

While Texas was nudged out of the BCS’ No. 2 this year, it has landed there in another very important measure — all-time wins, finally moving past Notre Dame.

The Michigan Wolverines, with their 872 all-time victories, remain No. 1 on the list of college football’s winningest programs. But the Longhorns’ win over Texas A&M on Thanksgiving gave Texas a one-game edge over Notre Dame for the No. 2 spot, with 831 victories.

It is only a matter of time before Texas passes Michigan now that they are on the skids.  Take that, O Who?

Bush, Cheney comforted troops privately

Washington Times EXCLUSIVE:

For much of the past seven years, President Bush and Vice President Dick Cheney have waged a clandestine operation inside the White House. It has involved thousands of military personnel, private presidential letters and meetings that were kept off their public calendars or sometimes left the news media in the dark.

Their mission: to comfort the families of soldiers who died fighting in Afghanistan and Iraq since the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks and to lift the spirits of those wounded in the service of their country.

On Monday, the president is set to make a more common public trip – with reporters in tow – to Walter Reed Army Medical Center, home to many of the wounded and a symbol of controversy earlier in his presidency over the quality of care the veterans were receiving.

More

You can say what you want about Bush but he took care of the troops as much as Congress would let him.  And the troops adored Bush, they overwhelmingly voted for him over Hussein, because they know Hussein holds them in nothing but contempt.  He will never, ever have the leadership ability over the military that Bush has.  In fact he’s probably more likely to alienate them by cutting the military budget and tying their hands to where they can’t do their job to protect us.  We’re in for a dark, scary four years at the very least.

AP study finds $1.6B went to bailed-out bank execs

By FRANK BASS and RITA BEAMISH
Associated Press
December 22, 2008

(AP) – Banks that are getting taxpayer bailouts awarded their top executives nearly $1.6 billion in salaries, bonuses, and other benefits last year, an Associated Press analysis reveals.

The rewards came even at banks where poor results last year foretold the economic crisis that sent them to Washington for a government rescue. Some trimmed their executive compensation due to lagging bank performance, but still forked over multimillion-dollar executive pay packages.

Benefits included cash bonuses, stock options, personal use of company jets and chauffeurs, home security, country club memberships and professional money management, the AP review of federal securities documents found.

More

Did anybody really NOT expect that to happen?  The bailout was one of the hugest mistakes ever in the history of the US.  It was like giving a kid money and telling him not to blow it, of course they’re going to spend it on candy and junk.  The banks are no different, they are spoiled rotten, and I mean rotten to the core.  If the Dimocraps really expected all of my tax money they gave to failed, crooked, stupid, and corrupt bankers to not be wasted on superfluous expenses instead of helping the economy, then they are truly even more ignorant than I thought they were and I thought they weren’t as smart as a blade of grass.  All the Dimocraps were doing with the bailout was paying back their biggest contributors.  The rich get richer and the corrupt get more corrupt.  That’s America nowadays and it will only get worse with Hussein in charge of all the graft and corruption.

In a perfect world, the execs wouldn’t make one cent until the banks were profitable again, but in our world, they not only get paid for failure, they get rewarded for it.  The worse the failure, the bigger the payoff in bailout.

Obama’s Choice of Pastor Warren a ‘Mistake,’ Barney Frank Says

Obama’s Choice of Pastor Warren a ‘Mistake,’ Barney Frank Says – By Justin Blum

Dec. 21 (Bloomberg) — President-elect Barack Obama shouldn’t have selected Rick Warren to deliver the inaugural invocation because the evangelical pastor has made offensive comments about gays, said Representative Barney Frank.

“Giving that kind of mark of approval and honor to someone who has frankly spoken in ways I and many others have found personally very offensive, I thought that was a mistake for the president-elect to do,” said Frank, a Massachusetts Democrat, today on CNN’s “Late Edition.”

Parker: ‘Tis The Season To Be Jolly’

By Star Parker
December 22, 2008

But this year it’s going to be a challenge for many Americans. A Washington Post survey this week reported two thirds saying they were being impacted by the current recession. In another poll, 57 percent said they’d be cutting back on their Christmas spending.

Nothing unsettles the human heart and mind more than the unknown. I think our general discomfort is compounded by a feeling of not knowing exactly what is causing this economic tsunami and how and when we will recover.

Maybe as we consider all this, and particularly at a time of the year when we think about the blessings we do have to count, we might ponder what produced all the prosperity we have to begin with. What’s behind this great economic miracle — the greatest of all time — the United States of America?

More

I, too, have noticed that while China and Russia (at least for a while) had given up on the failed experiment of Communism and were moving toward our successful style of government and society in order to keep up with us and compete, our country has been doing the opposite, abandoning what has made us great all this time and allowed us to defeat the lie that was Communism.  Now we are the ones abandoning what was successful and embracing what has proven to be a failure and has been thrown out by our enemies and competitors.  They learned the lesson and we failed to learn it.  Does that make them smarter than us?  At this moment in time, it is an unequivocal yes.  They learned from their mistakes of the past and we failed to learn from our successes.  It will be very ironic, if they, much like another defeated enemy of ours, Japan, copy our model and become even more powerful and successful than we ever were at the same time we fade off the world scene as just another has-been power, like Rome, Persia, Britian, etc.

It is also ironic that at the same time the US is becoming more and more vociferously anti-Christian, that Christianity is spreading more and more all over the world, including to places that were formerly completely, 100% anti-Christian, such as China and Russia.  It is like the world is going through a process where it is being turned completely on its head and we are in the middle of the switch, such as when the magnetic poles invert every 100,000 years or so.  To me the change is of an equal magnitude as that global, geological event.  It is too bad we have to live in the transition period but I suppose that is preferable to living at the opposite end, where the US is Communist and anti-Christian as it might be in a few years if the liberals and socialists and Dimocraps have their way.  Granted that is a pessimistic view but I have learned to live by the motto expect the worst and hope for the best.  That way if something bad happens you will be prepared for it and if something good happens instead you will be happily and pleasantly surprised.

Patton: Christmas Celebrates A Living, Loving God

By Doug Patton
December 22, 2008

I love Christmas movies. Two of my favorites are “It’s a Wonderful Life” and “A Christmas Story” (I, too, always wanted a Red Rider BB gun as a kid). But two years ago a new “classic” was added to my must-see list at Christmastime.

I remember when my wife and I first saw “The Nativity Story,” a simple, true-to-the-gospels retelling of the most familiar story in Christianity. As we walked into our local multiplex, past the throngs of moviegoers in line for the opening of the latest fantasy action flick of the week, I couldn’t help but smile. As we made our way into the half-empty theater, showing the film that tells the story every human being desperately needs to see and hear, I thought to myself, “Isn’t this the way it has always been?”

More

Great write.  I wish more people, everybody, really, felt this way.  Most people, it seems, decide what they want, then try to find or mold a religion to fit their already predetermined morals and ideals.  All Christians know that is a losing proposition.  There is only one Light and one Way.

Lamb: The Republic: Dangling By A Thread

By Henry Lamb
December 22, 2008

Democracy is often described as two wolves and a lamb voting on what to have for dinner. Democracy is mob rule. Democracy collapses when the majority discovers it can vote for itself treasure from the public coffers. Democracy is the last plateau of social order before anarchy.

America’s Founders knew this and chose not to create a democracy, and opted instead to create a federal republic. A cornerstone of this republic was the Senate, whose members were chosen by state legislatures to represent the states. Members of the House of Representatives were chosen by the people to represent the populace. This balance was destroyed on April 8, 1913, when the 17th Amendment was ratified, taking the election of senators away from state legislatures and submitting their election to the popular vote.

More

Excellent points raised by Mr. Lamb as usual.  We are already near the point of collapse for democracy because our elected officials have discovered that they can vote treasures for us out of the public coffers.  The majority doesn’t have to do it for themselves, they just elect the ones who promise to do it for them.  We are near the tipping point into anarchy and what will arise from the anarchy?  Despotism?  Communism?  Fascism?  Anything is possible with the incoming occupant of the White House.

I also agree the 17th Amendment in hindsight was a grave mistake, even though it might have sounded good at the time.  Now the State as a whole has no way to protect itself from power grabs by the federal government since the Senators work for those who elected them, the voters, instead of the State.  We pay for that by having the ever-expanding federal government usurping more and more of the states’ power and the states are pretty much helpless to do anything about it.

We are also near the imposition of mob rule as witnessed by the rabid, radical Al-Gayda and other liberal power groups using intimidation, terrorism, subterfuge, violence, and so on to impose their agenda on society when the public is against it, especially when they become violent and will stop at nothing until the public gives in to fear and gives them what they want even though they know it is wrong.  This will be evident if states begin to give in to homosexual rights in order to avoid the chaos and bad publicity that Al-Gayda can bring to bear.

Sherline: PC Is BS (Bad Speech)

By Harris R. Sherline
December 22, 2008

Has the endless barrage of “politically correct” (PC) rules that we are subjected to nowadays finally overcome our nation’s treasured right of free speech? To me, PC is BS (Bad Speech). It is censorship pure and simple. What concerns me is that it stifles dissent under the guise of being sensitive to the feelings and values of others.

I, for one, am weary of Politically Correct demands and the PC straight jacket that has been placed around the minds and free expression of Americans. I don’t know anyone any more who feels free to openly express their personal opinions.

PC influences expression about almost every subject and includes efforts to pass laws that not only try to force everyone to conform to some group’s notion of “correct” speech, but even to what they are supposed to think.

More

All I can say to this is a big AMEN!  Political Correctness (I really hate those words) has run amok in our country where you can’t say what you think or mean anymore without serious repercussions unless you say it to someone you are sure you can trust.  The next step, as witnessed in Pelosi’s ‘Hate Crimes’ legislation is the Thought Police and the Mind Crimes Unit.  Sometimes I think they are already in place and operating when I read the news.  The First Amendment, along with the Second, well I guess really all of them, are in serious danger from this PC BS, and I don’t mean Bad Speech I mean the other words BS stands for.  The Australians have a substitute word for it they call ‘Bullsh.’  Just like when I was younger I never thought I would see the day that my country would turn to socialism and elect a communist with a Muslim name as president, I never, ever seriously thought my right to free speech would be impinged upon.  But in only a few short years, here it is.  If I would’ve been told 20, even 10 years ago that this would happen, I wouldn’t have believed it.  Mr. Sherline is right, we must rise and stand up for Freedom of Speech and oppose PC.  But who is brave enough to do it, when you fear you will lose your job, your money, your property, your standing, and so on?  But if enough rise together in a righteous, vengeful mob perhaps we can take down PC and restore the Right to Free Speech, despite the best efforts of the Left to annul it in order to fit their view of the way the world and remake it the way they think it should be.  I think the Libs, Dims, communists, and socialist call it ‘hate speech’ because they ‘hate’ what we have to say, not because we have hate.

I really wish I could go back to the days where I could say whatever I wanted to whoever I wanted whenever I wanted without fear of a fight, a lawsuit, or an arrest.  That is the level to which we have sunk.  Those days are long gone.

Salvato: Risking Our Nation’s Sovereignty

By Nancy Salvato
December 22, 2008

Anyone who is successful at forging relationships has mastered the art of diplomacy. There are a few simple rules. There is a time and a place for everything. You cannot change another person, only yourself. You have to give to receive. Maintaining a balance of power is probably the most difficult. If one person denies another a relationship, there can be no balance of power because that person has taken all the control. Both parties have to want the relationship for one to occur. Any parent soon realizes that a dictatorial style will not foster loyalty or the intrinsic motivation to behave within a child. At the same time, giving in to a child’s demands grants the child all the power. A well-timed tantrum can put an end to a parent’s agenda.

When people learn and respect each others’ boundaries, they can interact within them and have no fear of upsetting the balance. On the other hand, if a person has difficulty accepting or respecting another’s boundaries, that can be a recipe for a confrontation, a break in the relationship, or an unbalanced relationship. Learning how to practice diplomacy is a worthwhile endeavor. By granting each other mutual respect, we can usually get along.

The UN is the biggest farce and travesty ever imposed on the world, bloated with waste and corruption.  It serves as not much more than a soap box for the countries of the world to slam the US and Israel.  it is useless to stop conflicts.  It is a paper tiger.

I cannot fathom why anyone in their right mind would ever want to submit to this farce in any way shape or form.  Yet that is exactly what Hussein, the Dims, and the Libs want to do.  Then again I cannot ever fathom why anyone would ever think like a liberal either.  I have read where the Hussein regime plans to give up our national sovereignty bit by bit, step by step, a little bit at a time, by signing this treaty or that agreement, changing this policy, and so on so as to not allow the public to realize that they are giving the country away to foreigners who hate us and want to see us destroyed.  They plan a stealth game much like that that allowed the liberals and socialists to slowly but deliberately take over the judicial and educational system of the country to breed and brainwash more liberals so that after a period of years they would have control.  So this is the plan to slowly but surely bleed away our national rights and powers to the corrupt world government.  This is no conspiracy theory, if you look you can see the treaties and agreements and policy changes Hussein and Hellary have already lined up to fast track through to become compliant with the UN, in areas of global warming and children’s rights (which is really the denial of parental rights) just to name a few.

One thing I do know is that if we give up our national sovereignty to anyone, we might as well hang a sign outside the country that says, ‘Closed.  All Have Gone Nuts.’

Sinton: Limbaugh Is Right on the Fairness Doctrine

By JON SINTON
Wall Street Journal

Conservative talk radio has worked itself into a tizzy lately over the rumored revival of the Fairness Doctrine — the FCC policy that sought to enforce balanced discussion on the nation’s airwaves.

As the founding president of Air America Radio, I believe that for the last eight years Rush Limbaugh and his ilk have been cheerleaders for everything wrong with our economic, foreign and domestic policies. But when it comes to the Fairness Doctrine, I couldn’t agree with them more. The Fairness Doctrine is an anachronistic policy that, with the abundance of choices on radio today, is entirely unnecessary.

Instituted in 1949, the Fairness Doctrine obligated stations to “afford reasonable opportunity” for opposing views on topics of “public importance.” At the time, most cities outside of New York, Chicago and Los Angeles had only a few stations. AM radio was in everyone’s car and home, but there were just three or four stations per market. FM radio was still a quarter of a century away from commercial success.

More

This revival of the so-called Fairness Doctrine is just another assault on the First Amendment right to free speech, much like political correctness and hate crimes legislation.  Since the Libs, Dims, and socialists can’t rightly take way the First Amendment overtly, they have taken to doing it bit by bit, step by step, in small increments so nobody will notice or raise a fuss, and then some day it will all be gone and there will be nothing anybody can do about it because they can no longer even talk about it being gone.  Watch out, America, fascism is knocking at the door.

Kristol: Popularity Isn’t Everything

Bill Kristol
NY Times

You gotta love Dick Cheney.

O.K., O.K. … you don’t have to. But consider this exchange with Chris Wallace on “Fox News Sunday”:

WALLACE: Did you really tell Senator Leahy, bleep yourself?

CHENEY: I did.

WALLACE: Any qualms, or second thoughts, or embarrassment?

CHENEY: No, I thought he merited it at the time. (Laughter.) And we’ve since, I think, patched over that wound and we’re civil to one another now.

No spin. No doubletalk. A cogent defense of his action — and one that shows a well-considered sense of justice. (“I thought he merited it.”) Indeed, if justice is seeking to give each his due, one might say that Dick Cheney aspires to being a just man. And a thoughtful one, because he knows that justice is sometimes too harsh, and should be tempered by civility.

More

I don’t care what the Dims and Libs say, I like Cheney.  And the more they hate him, the more I like him.  At least here is a man brave enough, or reckless enough, to say what he means and mean what he says, political correctness be damned.  I am sure there are a lot of other Dimocrap Senators who need to be told to bleep themselves besides Leahy.  I can think of several off hand and even more reps in the House.  Surprisingly enough, the vast majority of them are Dims.

For Conservative Radio, It’s a New Dawn, Too

Brian Stelter
NY Times

Amid all the pressures on the radio industry, news-talk stations see an opportunity — and his name is Barack Obama.

After eight years of playing defense for President Bush, the conservatives who dominate talk radio are back on offense.

Hours after Mr. Obama’s election, the country’s most popular radio host, Rush Limbaugh, was talking about the “rebirth of principled opposition.”

Sean Hannity, the second highest-rated host, quickly cast his afternoon show as the home of “conservatism in exile.”

It is a lively time to be behind the microphone. One television talker, Joe Scarborough, is starting a radio show. Another, Bill O’Reilly, is ending his.

Let’s see how long this lasts before the Fairness Doctrine, which is anything but, is kicked back in and the right to free speech is killed.

Federal judge insists Texas Legislature fix ESL program by the fall

AUSTIN – A federal judge has turned up the heat on the Legislature to develop a new language program for the estimated 140,000 limited-English middle and high school students in Texas.

U.S. District Judge William Wayne Justice rejected the state’s request to postpone his order for limited-English students, saying they have waited long enough. The state requested the delay while it appealed the order.

Showdown over Gaza looms as fighting resumes

12:00 AM CST on Monday, December 22, 2008

Los Angeles Times

JERUSALEM – The truce, flawed and half-formed as it was, has ended. The familiar tit-for-tat of Palestinian rocket launches and retaliatory Israeli airstrikes has already resumed.

Israeli politicians on Sunday were once again debating what to do about Gaza. In an Israeli election season, all sides are striving to look tough enough to lead the Jewish state in its showdown with the Islamic militant group Hamas.

http://www.dallasnews.com/sharedcontent/dws/news/world/stories/DN-mideast_22int.ART.State.Edition1.9cba8ec.html

If Israel gives in one inch to Hamas, there will be no more Israel.  Anyone who hasn’t been living under a rock or in a cave for the last 50 years knows that Israel only wants to be left alone to live in peace, and all the Palestinians want is to destroy Israel.  For them there can be no compromise, either Israel goes or they go, so they will fight to the death.  Anytime they talk about peace all they are doing is stalling and buying time to rearm and reload.  There will never be any peace in Israel until one or the other is gone, and since I don’t see that happening, then there will always be war between Hamas and Israel, no matter what Israel does.  So there is no need for them to give in to anything from Hamas for all they will get for being the good guy is shot or stabbed in the back.  Hamas is full of and run by fanatical terrorists who will never give up or never surrender until either they are dead or Israel is no more.

Camelot is Not a State

“I don’t know what Caroline Kennedy’s qualifications are. Except that she has name recognition, but so does J-Lo.” – Rep. Gary Ackerman, D-N.Y.

WASHINGTON — Right idea, wrong argument. The problem with Caroline Kennedy’s presumption to Hillary Clinton’s soon-to-be-vacated Senate seat is not lack of qualification or experience. The Senate houses lots of inexperienced rookies — wealthy businessmen, sports stars, even the occasional actor.

The problem is Kennedy’s sense of entitlement. Given her rather modest achievements, she is trading entirely on pedigree.

I hate to be a good government scold, but wasn’t the American experiment a rather firm renunciation of government by pedigree?

The entire Kennedy Clan of ultra-liberals is a scourge upon the land.  They only have their power, prestige, and money because their patriarch was a criminal, making the entire clan fortune as a bootlegger during Prohibition.  He should’ve been sent to prison, not allowed to make an ultra-liberal political dynasty bent on destroying everything the US stands for.  Even most of his descendents are criminals in their own right, one way or another, from crooked politicians all the way up to murderers.  Kennedy should be a curse word.  All Kennedy’s should be abolished.

Joy Behar: Obama Picking Rick Warren Like ‘Cheney in Charge of Gun Control’

NewsBustersMore

On Thursday’s The View, co-host Joy Behar expressed her displeasure at President-Elect Barack Obama’s choice of Rick Warren for the invocation at his inauguration: “I don’t think it’s appropriate. It’s like putting, you know, Cheney in charge of gun control. It’s wrong….it’s just wrong.”

The topic of Obama choosing Warren came up during the regular opening “Hot Topics” segment of the ABC daytime program. Whoopi Goldberg, who moderated the segment, introduced the controversy behind this choice: “…[A] lot of folks are opposed to this gentleman: gay — because he opposes gay marriage, he’s anti-abortion — he’s got a lot of different stances. There’s a lot of people saying he’s a bad choice.”

I’m kind of glad of the choice if for no reason other than it makes all of Hussein’s supporters angry at him, kind of like dividing and conquering.  Also I hope Rick Warren gets to put in a few shots about abortion and anti-Christian bigotry while he is up there.  If Hussein can use Rick Warren, then perhaps Rick can use Hussein to get out the truth to the blind and unbelieving.

Adamo: The Necessity of ‘Outing’ Colin Powell

By Christopher G. Adamo
December 19, 2008
More

These are painful times for most conservatives. Since Election Day, hopes of a pro-constitution Supreme Court, at least for the foreseeable future, have vanished. The prospect of an energy program that puts American workers and American industry as its first priority no longer exists. And with it goes the nation’s ability to maintain and determine its own future standard of living. Socialism and “political correctness” are making giant advances forward, while any ability to stop them is elusive at best.

To make matters worse, prominent “Republicans” are now regularly coming forward to castigate the party, or at least its conservative base, as the root cause of its problems and defeats in recent years. The latest and loudest contender is the once immensely popular General Colin Powell.

The only thing I have to do is to cut and paste my standard view of Colin Powell, RINO.  Yet I am glad to see that many, many other conservatives, including some with some power and say, think of him exactly as I do.  A worthless piece of garbage, a treacherous traitor who needs to not be only thrown out of the GOP, but kicked out by a hard boot to his arse.  The sooner he goes over to join his political philosophy kin, the liberals in the Dimocrap Party, the better.  Don’t let the door hit on the butt on the way out, Powell.

Illinois Politics, Chicago Corruption…I Told You So

By Frank Salvato

More

Prior to the November General Election I wrote an article called This Is What a Vote for Obama Gets You. (web site) It highlighted the state of affairs here in Democrat controlled Illinois. Beyond that it introduced the reality that most Democrat politicians (and some Republicans for that matter) who emanate from Illinois — and especially Chicago — have a problem with ethics, demonstrating, almost on a daily basis, an inherent penchant for corruption. The recent influence peddling and profiteering scandal involving Illinois Governor Rod Blagojevich demonstrates the Chicago/Illinois Democrat Machine in action.

By now, those who pay attention to the news are well aware that Illinois’ governor was caught on FBI wiretaps attempting to sell President-Elect Barack Obama’s vacated US Senate seat to the highest bidder. That — in and of itself — should produce a noticeable shade of embarrassment on the faces of everyone from Illinois, especially those who voted for Blagojevich.

This reminds me of a proverb I’ve been hearing ever since I was a child:  Be careful for what you wish for because you just might get it.  I wonder if that is how those fools and idiots who voted for Hussein will feel in a few weeks when his blend of Chicago-Mafia style of politics and Marxist/Fascist/Communist philosophy results in a caustic brew that could only be formed in Hell.

Malkin: No Mercy For Jihad Johnny

If it’s December, it’s time for the left to throw another shameless pity party for convicted American jihadist John Walker Lindh (aka Suleyman al-Faris, aka Abdul Hamid). Every Christmas season for the past four years, the Taliban accomplice and his parents have asked President Bush to pardon him. This country should save its tears and mercy for the defenders of freedom.

The farther we move from the September 11 attacks, the cloudier our collective memory of Lindh’s case becomes. Sympathetic journalists have rewritten the history, embracing him as a naive young hippie-dippie from Marin County, Calif., who was just caught in the “wrong place at the wrong time.”

Though I would hate to see it with a passion, it would not surprise me if Chairman Hussein pardons this treasonous traitor after he takes the oath, though this scum should remain in prison for the rest of his life.  If it was up to me, I would’ve shot him, then you wouldn’t have this ridiculous effort to free him despite his crimes against America.

CNN Meteorologist: Manmade Global Warming Theory ‘Arrogant’

CNN Meteorologist: Manmade Global Warming Theory ‘Arrogant’MORE

Network’s second meteorologist to challenge notion man can alter climate.

By Jeff Poor, Business & Media Institute

Unprecedented snow in Las Vegas has some scratching their heads – how can there be global warming with this unusual cold and snowy weather?

CNN Meteorologist Chad Myers had never bought into the notion that man can alter the climate and the Vegas snowstorm didn’t impact his opinion. Myers, an American Meteorological Society certified meteorologist, explained on CNN’s Dec. 18 “Lou Dobbs Tonight” that the whole idea is arrogant and mankind was in danger of dying from other natural events more so than global warming.

“You know, to think that we could affect weather all that much is pretty arrogant,” Myers said. “Mother Nature is so big, the world is so big, the oceans are so big – I think we’re going to die from a lack of fresh water or we’re going to die from ocean acidification before we die from global warming, for sure.”

Global warming is a sham and a scam to justify a power grab by liberals and socialist to control even more of the economy and people’s individual lives, not only here but over the whole world.  And just like every liberal ever born, when they cannot win in public opinion or prove what they say is true or are challenged by facts that contradict them, they resort to their base defense, savagely attack the messenger and leave not a scrap of meat on his bones.  I fear their efforts to ‘stop the (imaginary) warming,’ instead will backfire and have the opposite result, overcooling the atmosphere and bringing in a new ice age sooner than it would otherwise come.  But then Mother Nature is a big, old girl that can take care of herself and recover from just about anything mankind can throw at her, given enough to time.

In Clinton List, a Veil Is Lifted on Foundation

NY TimesMore

WASHINGTON — Former President Bill Clinton has collected tens of millions of dollars for his foundation over the last 10 years from governments in the Middle East, tycoons from Canada, India, Nigeria and Ukraine, and other international figures with interests in American foreign policy.

Lifting a longstanding cloak of secrecy, Mr. Clinton on Thursday released a complete list of more than 200,000 donors to his foundation as part of an agreement to douse concerns about potential conflicts if Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton is confirmed as secretary of state in the Obama administration.

Sounds like another case of ‘pay to play,’ Chicago style, by Slick Willie, either payback for favors he did for the donators while in office, or pay for his influence today with current lawmakers.  Given Slick Willie’s and the Dimocrap’s propensity for telling lies, who do we know the list is even complete or true?

Report: Emanuel Spoke Directly With Blagojevich About Senate Seat

Fox NewsMore

Rahm Emanuel, President-elect Obama’s chief of staff, had direct discussions with Illinois Gov. Rod Blagojevich about Obama’s vacant Senate seat, the Chicago Sun-Times reported.

Sources with knowledge of the conversations told the Sun- Times Emanuel spoke with the governor and pushed for the appointment of Valerie Jarrett in the days after the presidential election and asked that it be done by a certain date.

The sources said Blagojevich told aides about conversations with Emanuel and sometimes gave them directions afterward. Some conversations between Blagojevich and Emanuel were likely caught on tape, the sources said.

An Obama source strongly denied Emanuel spoke with the governor directly about the seat, the Sun-Times reported.

So the lying, spin, and cover up begin and Hussein isn’t even in office yet.  so much for his “change” and pledge for a more open and transparent government.  His efforts to cover up this, his birth certificate, his campaign donations, his past association with Ayers, Wright, and that ilk, make Nixon look like a choir boy.

Recruits who boycott Auburn send message about racist hirings

07:48 PM CST on Friday, December 19, 2008

This issue about the lack of African-Americans coaching Football Bowl Subdivision teams is bigger than Turner Gill. And it’s bigger than the dumb decision-makers at Auburn.

It’s symptomatic of a country in which institutional racism thrives.

If that upsets you, too bad. It’s true. Remember, the first step toward solving a problem is admitting one exists.

If you take this ranting idiot’s theory one step further, then there should be a lot less black football players in college football and a lot more white and Hispanic ones.  Heck, if he wants us to go by a quota system for coaches then it is only right to have one for players too.  How about we just keep it the American way, where colleges are free to hire whoever they think is best for the job, without regard to color, and the coaches keep recruiting the best athletes they can get, without regard for color.

With economy in shambles, Congress gets a raise

With economy in shambles, Congress gets a raise – By Jordy Yager, The Hill

A crumbling economy, more than 2 million constituents who have lost their jobs this year, and congressional demands of CEOs to work for free did not convince lawmakers to freeze their own pay.

Instead, they will get a $4,700 pay increase, amounting to an additional $2.5 million that taxpayers will spend on congressional salaries, and watchdog groups are not happy about it.

“As lawmakers make a big show of forcing auto executives to accept just $1 a year in salary, they are quietly raiding the vault for their own personal gain,” said Daniel O’Connell, chairman of The Senior Citizens League (TSCL), a non-partisan group. “This money would be much better spent helping the millions of seniors who are living below the poverty line and struggling to keep their heat on this winter.”

Proof that the inmates are running the asylum no. 6842646634.

Notice how the sneaky dastards arranged it to where the pay raise kicks in automatically so they don’t have to go on record as voting for it.  The only thing they can do is vote against the automatic raise, which hardly anybody of either party wanted to do.  And let’s not forget all the perks of office they get on the side, too, plus kickbacks, bribes, campaign contributions, endorsements, selling favors and votes, and so on.  They take in way more money each year than what the taxpayers pay them.  They are indeed a sneaky brood of vipers.

Al Franken Storms to Within 5 Votes of Coleman

By: David A. Patten

More than six weeks after the Nov. 4 election, Democratic challenger Al Franken threatened to take his first lead Thursday over incumbent GOP Sen. Norm Coleman in the recount of votes in the hotly contested Minnesota Senate race.

The State Canvassing Board ended its day Thursday with Franken having moved within just five votes of Coleman.

If Franken ultimately emerges the winner, he will be the 59th Democratic vote in the U.S. Senate, putting President-elect Barack Obama and Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid just one vote away from being able to cut off a filibuster on any issue, as they work to push Obama’s ambitious legislative agenda through Congress.

Coleman began Thursday with a 358-vote lead. But by 1 p.m., his advantage had dwindled to just 195 votes out of nearly 3 million votes cast on Election Day. The slide continued until about 6 p.m. Eastern time, when the board called it a day, with Coleman clinging to a five-vote margin.

Keep your cash: SC governor rails against bailouts

By SEANNA ADCOX
Associated Press
December 18, 2008

COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) — At a time when other states are clamoring for cash, South Carolina Gov. Mark Sanford is saying no thanks.

The newly minted head of the Republican Governors Association is carving out an identity as the anti-bailout governor, speaking against calls for more money from Washington for new state public works spending, lifesaving dollars for the auto industry and even stimulus checks.

At a time when the nation sinks deeper into a recession, state budgets everywhere are growing greater holes and unemployment rates are soaring, Sanford knows he doesn’t have many people rallying around him. But he doesn’t care.

Reagan: If I Were President

By Michael Reagan
December 18, 2008

Who needs gigantic bailouts when there are far less costly and more effective ways to deal with the economic crisis, such as those I’d use if I were president of the United States.

To begin with I’d give the economy a powerful shot in the arm by eliminating a lot of federal taxes that are hobbling economic growth.

There is a better way to boost our economy than the socialistic programs now being both used and considered. It’s called free enterprise, and it works by loosening the death grip now strangling America’s small business community, which provides the majority of jobs in this country.

I’d start by reinstating the tax deductibility of the interest rates we now pay banks on vacation or second homes, cars, motor homes, RVs, boats and yachts.

More

Why did Michael never go into politics like his dad?  With his solid conservative credentials in addition to his pedigree as a son of one of the best US presidents ever, he would seem a natural.  Heck, if you’re in any way related to a famous or powerful Dimocrap you’re automatically a politician, even if you’re a brother, a mother, a sister, a cousin, an aunt, an uncle, an uncle’s best friend, a second-cousin’s college roommate’s babysitter, and so on.  It seems they try to out pedigree each other with who has the most liberal or most powerful family name.  But not nearly so much with conservatives or Republicans.  I guess they are not so much into nepotism like the Dims are.

Bozell: What Democrat Scandal?

By Brent Bozell
December 18, 2008

In October 2006, the national media projected Rep. Mark Foley’s online sex chats with House pages into a disaster that would swallow the Grand Old Party whole. CBS, for example, proclaimed it the “congressional equivalent of Katrina.” In 2008, when federal investigators found Illinois Gov. Rod Blagojevich trying to put Barack Obama’s Senate seat on the auction block, these same “news” gatherers found a storm, to be sure, but a storm they suggested would in short order be “pushed out to sea.”

With the governor caught on tape unloading obscenity after obscenity about how he expected to reap a financial bonanza for handing out his gubernatorial perks, this story was so undeniably big, even the Obamaphile press couldn’t ignore it. So instead these reporters tried to downplay its impact on the President-elect and the Democrats.

More

Just another case in point, among thousands if not millions, of the undeniable, blatant bias of the MSM and nearly all media in favor of Dimocraps and against Republicans.  Dimocraps can easily get away with things where the media would crucify a Republican for doing the exact same thing and jump up and down in glee while doing it.  The double standard and hypocrisy of the Left, the media, and the Dimocraps knows no bound and only gets worse year by year, scandal by scandal.  If Clinton had been a Republican and done the same things he did in the White House and got away with, do you not think that NOW and everybody else on the Left wouldn’t stage marches and riots in Washington every day until he resigned of was impeached?  Yet since it was their good old friend and benefactor, Slick Willie, he was allowed to get away with it by even the most radical feminists.  And that doesn’t even cover his lying about it and getting away with that, too, and nobody cared or did anything about it.  And that doesn’t even begin to approach the bias on display in the last election, where the media essentially dictated both to their erstwhile allies, the Dims, and the whole country who the next president would be.  The media disgusts me so much with their far-left, ultra-liberal, socialist bias it is unbelievable.  They really are into 1984-style brainwashing not only by slanting stories the way they want them to be read and understood but also by publishing patently false material and refusing to publish the truth, in order to delude the public into their fascist Worker’s Paradise.

Towery: A Glimpse At A Brighter Future For The Paranoid Nation

By Matt Towery
December 18, 2008
This week my new book went on sale on Amazon.com. In the coming weeks, I’m told, it will be in bookstores and airports across the nation.

The book is called “Paranoid Nation: The Real Story of The 2008 Fight For The Presidency.” I know, the title sounds ominous. I outline a slant on things that I haven’t read or heard of anywhere else.

Unlike most columnists, I don’t spin a new book out every year. My last major one was 10 years ago. I mention “Paranoid Nation” here not just as a shameless plug — although if you want to order it, you won’t be disappointed — but to preface a different message altogether than the one I lay out in the book.

I, like MT, don’t want to sound Nostradamistic, but I too could feel something was very, very wrong with the economy in general and the housing market specifically several years ago, when the prices of houses where I live in South Florida literally went crazy, doubling every year.  I knew for a fact there was no way those houses were worth that much money yet they were being bought and sold for it.  I knew that market couldn’t sustain itself and it had to crash some day.  Then it did.  And like a row of dominoes it brought down a lot of other markets with it.  It is still insane.

Value of 2008 Bailouts Exceeds Combined Costs of All Major U.S. Wars

(CNSNews.com) – The total value of the bailouts undertaken by the federal government in 2008 now exceeds the combined cost of every major war the United States has ever engaged in, according to a comparison of war costs calculated by the Congressional Research Service (CRS) and the value of the bailouts as calculated by Bloomberg News or Bianco Research.

According to CRS, all major U.S. wars (including such events as the American Revolution, the War of 1812, the Civil War, the Spanish American War, World War I, World War II, Korea, Vietnam, Iraq and Afghanistan, but not the invasion of Panama or the Kosovo War), cost a total of $7.2 trillion in inflation-adjusted 2008 dollars.

Amazing how the Dims and libs carped and harped on Bush for so long for the cost of the Iraqi War but they don’t even raise a stir when they spend so much more themselves to bail out corrupt bankers and corrupt unions.

Chicago politics at the retail level

Annie Lake
The American Thinker

When I lived in Chicago, I joined a neighborhood association with the intent of meeting neighbors, and ended up meeting political sleaze.

The association dealt with police, school, park district, and other issues in a city where, I learned, even garbage cans are political. You can’t buy them; they’re a special, rat-proof type only available ‘free’ from the City. If you need one, you call your Alderman’s office (unless you’re on the Alderman’s *&#! list, in which case, you get your neighbor to make the call). One of the Alderman’s assistants passes your request on to Streets and Sanitation. In a week or so, guys from that department drop off your new can. By providing you with a garbage can, the alderman does you a favor, in return for which he or she expects your loyalty.

More

Sounds to me like Chicago is run like the Mafia.  You know, “Someday, and that day may never come, I’ll call upon you to do a service for me.”

And this is the sordid environment where our so-called president-elect came from and was nurtured upon?  Perhaps with this Hussein in office, now the Federal Government will be run like the Mafia as well.

Hawkins: A RINO vs. El Rushbo

A.W.R. Hawkins
Human Events

Since the presidential election, former Secretary of State Colin Powell has not been making rounds on Sunday morning talk shows with the frequency he did when supporting Barack Obama for president. But last Sunday, he popped up on CNN to criticize Rush Limbaugh for misleading, if not destroying, the Republican Party.

Powell tried to make the rejection of Limbaugh the path Republicans need to take to win elections again. Thus he asked rhetorically, “Can we continue to listen to Rush Limbaugh?”

Of Limbaugh’s supposed influence on the Republican Party, Powell said: “Is this really the kind of party that we want to be when these kinds of spokespersons seem to appeal to our lesser instincts rather than our better instincts?” This is that language of an elitist, or what Limbaugh calls a “Washingtonian.”

More

Why do we care anything about what Powell says anymore anyway, after his endorsement of Hussien?  And he wasn’t even any good before that either, he has always been a RINO or worse, a wolf in sheep’s clothing among the Republicans to either bring us down or convert us into liberals like the Dimocraps.  Powell needs to shut up and get out.  We don’t need him, all he does is cause trouble and lead others astray.  Let him go join his butt-buddies like Hussein, Pelosi, Reid, Kennedy, Frank, and so on in the Dims.  And good riddance, don’t let the door hit you on the butt on the way out, Powell.  And if he won’t go, he should be helped out, as in thrown out the door onto his arse, with a swift kick there to boot.

Wooley: What if Texas Went Blue?

Lynn Wooley
Human Events

Careful, folks! If a new survey is correct, Texas voters are ready to throw out the current Republican leadership in Texas and replace it with a more progressive Democratic model. That’s precisely what the state should do — IF it wants to commit financial suicide.

This new poll of 636 registered voters, conducted by Hill Research Consultants of Houston, purports to show that Texas voters are disgusted with the current Republican leadership. They just may be ready to “throw the bums out” and elect a new governor of the Democratic persuasion.

Why? Well, they believe the Republicans are out-of-touch, arrogant, and they are dismayed at the leadership of President George W. Bush. When asked what party they would support in upcoming elections for the state legislature and for governor, 45 percent said they’d vote for Democrats while just 31 percent would choose Republicans.

More

While I don’t live in Texas anymore, I still have a lot of friends and relatives who do and I do keep up with what goes on there, in case some day I move back, and I find this news a little hard to believe.  I also think it is more a frustration with the current GOP leadership instead of the GOP itself, too many RINO’s who want to run things like they are run in DC, and that doesn’t sit well with the conservatives in Texas.  Texas has always been and still is a very conservative state, without a doubt the largest conservative state in the land and I don’t see it changing into a liberal bastion overnight like this.  The only thing that could possibly bring this about is all those from South of the Border, both legal and illegal, infiltrating and taking over, giving their vote to the Dimocraps in return for making all their illegal compadres legal and granting them amnesty, and thus the right to vote for even more Dimocraps.  That would be the only way I would see Texas change to a California, an influx of outsiders too big to handle.  And the Dims and libs with their liberal, asinine, open-borders immigration policies and abject refusal to enforce existing laws to stop the illegal invasion are making that take place.

Texas is like the last large bastion of conservatism in the country and if you see it fall, you will know that the country is doomed.  The entire US would look like Kalifornication in a matter of no time at all.  When Texas falls, the whole US falls.

I am surprised the robbery victim didn’t get arrested though, the way the upside down, convoluted justice system works some times.  Maybe because it happened in a small town where they understand the difference between right and wrong and there are no bleeding-heart, pansy-butted liberals who cry more for the rights of the criminal instead of the victim.

Obama charm offensive sways Republicans

The Hill

President-elect Obama is waging a charm offensive on congressional Republicans. In recent days he has personally called at least a dozen ranking GOP members of committees he will need to work with next year.

The highly personal, hands-on approach marks a change for Obama, who has been described as self-contained and aloof and who, on the campaign trail, often seemed more comfortable speaking to large rallies than in intimate settings.

Republicans who spoke with Obama said that the president-elect has called them directly at various times during the day, clearly enunciating his name on voice mail as though they might somehow confuse him with someone else.

Don’t forget the Devil can disguise himself as an angel of light.  It is not only what a person acts like on the outside, it is also what he is inside and what he does.  Surely politicians and diplomats know bitter enemies that want to see each other dead can act like best friends for life when together if they need to in order to get what they want.  This ‘angel of light’ called Hussein Obama has already proven himself to be a liar, a cover-up, and a spin-artist.  I hope these Repubs he is schmoozing up to can see beyond the friendly veneer on the outside and see the deep, dark pit of corruption and evil on the inside.

Obama Birth Certificate

Northeast Intellegence Network

Instead, Barack Hussein OBAMA, in conjunction with the co-defendants, has reportedly spent between $800,000 to close to $1,000,000 (one million dollars), using at least three different law firms to fight these civil actions. Now, consider that each and every one of the lawsuits filed against him could be immediately dismissed by the mere production of a single piece of paper that is available to him for the paltry sum of $12.50 at a recorder’s office in Hawaii. Keep in mind that at this point, OBAMA would likely not even have to make the document public, but provide it to the applicable judge or official for verification purposes to make this controversial maelstrom disappear.

As an investigator and a rational American citizen, I have to ask myself why Barack Hussein OBAMA has chosen not to dispose of this very simple matter in the most logical and expeditious manner possible. Not only would that satisfy these pesky plaintiffs who happen to respect the rule of law as laid out in the Constitution of the United States, but it would also go a long way to brand them and their supporters as deluded conspiracy theorists who have way too much time on their hands.

Following that same line of logic, I then have to ask myself why this matter of such constitutional importance has not received the coverage by the corporate media that it deserves. More ink has been used, and more airtime has been provided to the civil and criminal legal issues of the likes of O.J. Simpson than the possible constitutional ramifications of the eligibility questions of the new leader of the free world. I would argue that questions surrounding the eligibility of a professional football, basketball or baseball player, NASCAR race driver, or Olympic athlete would garner more media attention and outrage of otherwise rational Americans than this matter, which has far more important ramifications for this country as well as the entire planet.

Equally troubling is the failure of those who have been labeled or otherwise accepted as the public ambassadors of American conservatives holding much coveted and very valuable platforms, opportunities and audiences to address this issue with the intellectual honesty it deserves. In this instance, I am specifically referring to the vocal gatekeepers of American conservatism such as Rush Limbaugh, Sean Hannity, and Bill O’Reilly whose combined audience and consequential influence is staggering to the imagination.

The same applies to conservative political pundits such as Michelle Malkin, Michael Medved and David Horowitz, the latter who, in an article published today, described Alan Keyes, one of the plaintiffs of the lawsuits, “an unhinged demagogue on the political fringe” for his role in wanting to insure that we are adhering to the rule of law outlined in the U.S. Constitution. This, by the way, is a key tactic employed by those who cannot fight the argument with facts; they attack the messenger.

By simply ignoring the legitimate questions raised by these lawsuits, however, it efficiently and effectively serves to brand anyone wanting answers as a card-carrying member of the lunatic, malcontented fringe of society.

It seems this will not die.  I rarely go back to threads I have already read and posted but this one keeps coming up too often in the “In the Forum” to the right to ignore.  I have a new prediction.  The real birth certificate will be available for viewing around the end of January 2017.  Or maybe 2013, depending on how the next election goes.  Either that or the conspirators will come up with such a good fake so close to being authentic that it will not matter.  Seems like with the $1million Hussein has already spent on lawyers to fight this, he could’ve already pulled of a heck of a forgery for less money.  I wonder what is really up.

Sowell: Postponing Reality

By Thomas Sowell
December 17, 2008

Some of us were raised to believe that reality is inescapable. But that just shows how far behind the times we are. Today, reality is optional. At the very least, it can be postponed.

Kids in school are not learning? Not a problem. Just promote them on to the next grade anyway. Call it “compassion,” so as not to hurt their “self-esteem.”

Can’t meet college admissions standards after they graduate from high school? Denounce those standards as just arbitrary barriers to favor the privileged, and demand that exceptions be made.

Can’t do math or science after they are in college? Denounce those courses for their rigidity and insensitivity, and create softer courses that the students can pass to get their degrees.

Malkin: The Real Housewives Of Crook County

December 17, 2008

Cable television introduced us to “The Real Housewives of Orange County” — an estrogen-infused reality show featuring a coven of conniving and ambitious women living pampered lives in Southern California. Blago-gate has brought us something even juicier: The Real Housewives of Crook County, Illinois. The public may be wearying of indicted Democratic Gov. Rod Blagojevich and the Chicago boys’ club, but the conniving and ambitious women behind the scenes of the corruption scandal are a must-see political drama all their own.

Mrs. Blago, the former Patti Mell, won the hearts of old-school thugs everywhere with her f-word-filled rants captured on FBI wiretaps, some of which were colorfully detailed in the criminal complaint against her hubby last week. It’s old news to folks in Chicago, but the woman who masquerades as a sweet gubernatorial spouse dedicated to children’s advocacy is a cutthroat wheeler-dealer in heels who schemed with the gov to fire pesky editorial writers and get herself placed on paid corporate boards in exchange for naming the president-elect’s pick to the Senate. First Lady by day, Dragon Lady by night.

Call me a pessimist if you will but with all this talk of taking the high road, and I know it is the right thing to do, but what has walking the high road gotten us so far?  We’re in worse shape than those who walked the low road.  I also realize walking the high road is not the only reason we’re in the dog house instead of the White House, but what has being good compared to the Dimocraps gotten us?  As evidence by the election of Hussein, a majority of American voters don’t care which road you take if you make enough promises you can’t keep.  I’m not advocating we abandon the moral high ground, but I’ve studied enough to know that sometimes in order to defeat an enemy you have to use his own tactics against him.  Otherwise, those that ‘play by the rules’ get smacked down by those that ‘play dirty’ and in the end, when it comes to matters of survival or extinction, the only thing that counts is who is left standing.  Some might argue that if you act like the enemy, stooping to his level, you become the enemy you hated so much yourself and in the end you are no better than he is.  Is that worse than being dead or enslaved?  I don’t know.  I do know that if my country was invaded by a foreign power, I would go underground and stop at nothing to make my country free again, even if it meant breaking every law, rule, and commandment.  Or at least die trying.  That’s the way I see it anyway.

Only 17% of 8th Graders Can Read at Grade Level in Chicago Schools Overseen by Obama Education Secretary-Designee

(CNSNews.com) – In 2007, only 17 percent of eighth graders tested at or above grade level in reading in Chicago Public Schools – the school system administered by Arne Duncan since 2001.

President-elect Barack Obama on Tuesday tapped Duncan to become secretary of education in the upcoming administration.

Duncan, hailed by Obama as a reformer, said he would like to take the lessons he learned in Chicago with him when he moves to Washington. “I’m also eager to apply some of the lessons we have learned here in Chicago to help school districts all across our country,” Duncan said after Obama formally named him to the job in Chicago.

More

And THIS guy is the one Hussein picked to run the US Dept. of Education?  What exactly did he “reform” about Chicago’s schools?  Did only 14 or 15% of eighth graders used to test at or above grade level?  This is like picking Joseph Hazelwood to be Secretary of the Navy (he of the Exxon Valdez fame) or Inspector Clouseau to be Attorney General.  The absolute idiocy of this idiot Hussein’s cabinet picks is utterly astounding.  Who is he going to get next, Al Capone to run the FBI or General Custer to run the Joint Chiefs?

Like others of you out there, I too taught school for 20 years, and while I had eight graders who could talk intelligently and understand intelligently, their writing skills were horrible for the most part, constantly misspelling easy, common words and making idiotic mistakes with punctuation that I learned not to do in elementary school.  I taught PE for the most part so it didn’t affect me much, but that lack of writing ability seemed to be the norm instead of the exception and this was in a very well-off upper class school in a very wealthy suburb, where the kids were sons and daughters of doctors, lawyers, corporate executives, pro athletes, and politicians.  The kind of kids with the money, background, and family connections to go places and do things in life when they got older.  Yet they could not write to save their lives for the most part.

York: Could the Blago Scandal Ensnare Team Obama? You Betcha.

By Byron York
NRO

Will the Blagojevich scandal damage the incoming Obama administration? Given Rod Blagojevich’s profane railings against Barack Obama, revealed on federal wiretaps, few observers believe — although none know for sure — that the Obama camp engaged in any pay-for-play dealings with the governor, and therefore few see any legal problems for Team Obama resulting from the criminal investigation.

But that’s not the only way the incoming administration might be caught up in the Blagojevich affair. The probe is being conducted, after all, by U.S. Attorney Patrick Fitzgerald, the man who prosecuted one of the most intensely investigated and politically-charged perjury-and-false-statements cases in Washington history. In that case, the Plame affair, no one was charged with any underlying crime, yet several Bush administration officials went through repeated sessions before a grand jury, plus interviews with investigators, with their statements subjected to extraordinarily close scrutiny. You don’t think the Blagojevich matter could cause trouble for Obama? Then you haven’t looked closely enough at the Plame affair.

More

I too thought Hussein was untouchable given all the crimes and scandals he so deftly avoided during the election with the cooperation and complicity of the biased, corrupt press that worshipped the very ground he walked upon and did absolutely everything within their power to see that he got elected.

But after reading this article I gained new hope that this Fitzgerald might be just the party-blind, mad attack dog US Attorney to bring down a good chunk of corrupt Chicago and Illinois Dimocraps, maybe even take some heavyweights with him, if he goes after it with as much zeal as he went after the Repubs in the Plame affair.  One can only hope.  I watched his performance in his press conference and to me he did seem sincere and interested in getting to the sordid bottom of the affair no matter what the cost.  I’ve got to wish him good luck in taking down Dimocraps, especially if it will clean up Chicago and Illinois, the capitol of corrupt politics in the US if there ever was one.

Southwest border fence hits 500-mile mark

By AP STAFF
Associated Press
December 17, 2008

WASHINGTON (AP) — The government has completed 500 miles of fencing along the Southwest border, 170 miles short of its goal.

At this pace, the administration expects to have at least 600 miles complete by Jan. 20, when Barack Obama takes over as president, Homeland Security Secretary Michael Chertoff said earlier this month.

The president-elect said last week that he wants to evaluate what’s working on the border as he considers whether to continue building the 670 miles of fencing. But by Chertoff’s estimation, there will not be much left to build.

Homeland Security officials earlier this year said the fence would not be completed by Dec. 31, as planned. About 160 miles have been built since August, despite calls by some groups to delay construction.

Well, there is some good news on this day at last.  I only hope most of the work will be done before Hussein takes office and then that he will not take it down for spite or to please La Raza Unida or any of the other Hispanic activist groups, which I wouldn’t put past him.

12-16-08 The US Constitution Is in Danger

December 17, 2008

Since Hellary Clinton will be Secretary of State and she was heavily involved when her husband’s administration signed the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child, you can be sure she will seek to fast track the Senate ratification of this abhorrent travesty as brokered by the morally bankrupt and corrupt UN.  Here is a short list of what is wrong with this treaty, both with regards to US sovereignty and the rights of US parents to raise their children without total interference from the government.

http://www.parentalrights.org/learn/the-attack-on-parental-rights/international-law/20-things?utm_source=ParentalRights.org+Newsletter&utm_campaign=125cd34d8e-Farris_Fundraising_Letter_Dec_2008&utm_medium=email

And here is a more detailed analysis.

http://www.parentalrights.org/learn/the-attack-on-parental-rights/international-law

Here is my email to my senators, both good and bad, on the CRC:

Dear Senator,

I sincerely hope I can count on you to not surrender an iota of our nation’s sovereignty by approving this anti-family, anti-American, anti-religious, anti-values, asinine, UN bureaucrat, socialistic proposal, the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child, if it is brought up for approval by the Hussein Obama regime.  I, and millions of Americans like me, who oppose any and all effort to subvert our nation’s laws and Constitution to the alien whims of any foreigners, oppose this ridiculous farce of a treaty for the following reasons, and I hope as a true American and man of moral principles you will too.  If you don’t, you should.

Ten things you need to know about the structure of the CRC.

  1. It is a treaty which creates binding rules of law.  It is no mere statement of altruism.
  2. Its effect would be binding on American families, courts, and policy-makers.
  3. Children of other nations would not be impacted in any direct way by our ratification.
  4. The CRC would automatically override almost all American laws on children and families because of our Supremacy Clause.
  5. The CRC has some elements that are self-executing, while others would require implementing legislation.  Federal courts would have the power to determine which provisions were self-executing.
  6. The Courts would have the power to directly enforce the provisions that are self-executing.
  7. Congress would have the power to directly legislate on all subjects necessary to comply with the treaty.  This would constitute the most massive shift of power from the states to the federal government in American history.
  8. A committee of 18 experts from other nations, sitting in Geneva, has the authority to issue official interpretations of the treaty which are entitled to binding weight in American courts and legislatures.  This effectively transfers ultimate authority for all policies in this area to this foreign committee.
  9. Under international law, the treaty overrides even our Constitution.
  10. Reservations, declarations, or understandings intended to modify our duty to comply with this treaty will be void if they are determined to be inconsistent with the object and purpose of the treaty.

Ten things you need to know about the substance of the CRC.

  1. Parents would no longer be able to administer reasonable spankings to their children.
  2. A murderer aged 17 years, 11 months and 29 days at the time of his crime could no longer be sentenced to life in prison.
  3. Children would have the ability to choose their own religion while parents would only have the authority to give their children advice about religion.
  4. The best interest of the child principle would give the government the ability to override every decision made by every parent if a government worker disagreed with the parent’s decision.
  5. A child’s “right to be heard” would allow him (or her) to seek governmental review of every parental decision with which the child disagreed.
  6. According to existing interpretation, it would be illegal for a nation to spend more on national defense than it does on children’s welfare.
  7. Children would acquire a legally enforceable right to leisure.
  8. Teaching children about Christianity in schools has been held to be out of compliance with the CRC.
  9. Allowing parents to opt their children out of sex education has been held to be out of compliance with the CRC.
  10. Children would have the right to reproductive health information and services, including abortions, without parental knowledge or consent.

As you can see, by any measure available, this UN garbage is utterly insane, ridiculous, and 180° opposed to the traditional American values we have held for more than 200 years without any interference from the UN or any other foreign source.  I emphatically urge you to do your duty to defend US sovereignty and the rights of American parents to raise their children they way they have always done and been able to do, thanks to the safeguards of the US Constitution, which would be usurped if this UN monster of a treaty was ratified by the Senate.  Surely even you can see the dangers inherent in implementing this mockery of all that is American, not only in the fact that it disregards and denigrates our great Constitution, but that it would violate the centuries-old, cherished rights of American parents.  DO NOT ALLOW THIS TO BE RATIFIED BY THE US!

Thank you in advance for you cooperation.

Patton: A Tale Of Two Churches

By Doug Patton
December 16, 2008

This is a tale of two American churches. One is in a major city. The other is in a small town. One preaches hatred of America and its institutions. The other preaches love and patriotism. One is infected with a toxic dogma known as Black Liberation Theology. The other espouses the Gospel of Jesus Christ. One was just firebombed. Guess which one.

Barack Obama spent twenty years sitting in the pews of the Trinity United Church of Christ in Chicago, listening to some of the foulest teaching ever to come from the mouth of a “preacher.” That preacher was a poison-tongued demagogue named Jeremiah Wright, who has spewed racist lies and hateful conspiracies from his pulpit during his entire career.

Meanwhile, in Wasilla, Alaska, an evangelical church, attended by Gov. Sarah Palin and her family, teaches the true meaning of Christ’s message to His church and to a fallen world.

More

Can anyone really imagine the outcry and the rage felt across the nation and fed by the corrupt, biased media if it was the unholy, Godless charlatan Wright, whose church was firebombed?  There would be uncontrolled rioting in the streets and Chicago would turn into a war zone that would spread so quickly through the rest of the nation that what is going on in Greece right now would look like a picnic by comparison.  Yet since it was a small, conservative church attended by the Sarah Palin the Left and the media detest so, it is viewed as a victory for those who oppose her and what she stands for.  The US, and especially the abominable press, are completely upside down right now and need a good shaking to get put upright again before it sinks to the bottom of the ocean.

By the way, whoever coined the term ‘Al-Gayda,” I like that, I’m going to start using it when referring to radical gay rights rabble myself.  Until I read that post, I hadn’t considered it might be the work of that hateful bunch, but it is possible.  But then nearly everybody and everything on the Left is so full of hate for Christians and conservatives, it could’ve been anybody.  We won’t know for sure until the dastards are caught.  And notice that word started with a D and not a B.

Kudlow: Who’s Losing The U.S. Car Business?

By Lawrence Kudlow
December 16, 2008

After Chairman Mao’s revolution about 60 years ago, people in the United States played the blame game by asking, “Who lost China?” Well, following the breakdown of an arduous seven-hour Senate negotiating session on Thursday night, many are asking, “Who lost the U.S. car business?”

Right after the United Auto Workers vetoed a compromise, bankruptcy-lite — the Detroit-little-three rescue plan put together by Tennessee Republican Bob Corker — UAW President Ron Gettelfinger played the blame game by blasting Corker and the Republican Party for “singling out” union workers to shoulder the burden of reviving the U.S. car business.

In truth, the UAW is to blame.

More

As I and a lot of others have repeatedly pointed out, the UAW WAS the problem to begin with and they refused to be part of the solution, blatantly displaying for all but the most ignorant (and that would include the Dims and the Libs) how greedy, power mad, and corrupt they are.  As usual, when the conservative or the Republican attempts to play the good guy, go by the rules, do what’s best for everybody, enemy union as well, they get slain and lambasted in the media by the unions and liberally biased reporters as being the problem.  No matter what you do, if you’re conservative or Republican, you can’t win in the eyes of the libs and the media.  Even if you do win, it wasn’t because of you, it was due to something else, and in addition, you get blamed for everything that is not your fault.  Bush should be an expert on that part by now.  I sincerely hope he doesn’t cave in the waning hours of his presidency and give in to the UAW and give them what they want.  I also sincerely hope the Dims and Hussein will surprise me and also not give in, and force UAW to accept a hefty pay cut to keep their jobs.  Otherwise while I would mourn the passing of GM, I would jump up and down and laugh and have a party if the UAW ceased to exist due solely to their own greed.  In the end, only Coker’s hard fought solution will save the Little 3, that or going Ch. 11 and nullifying the industry-killing union contracts.

Limbaugh: What’s In A Middle Name?

By David Limbaugh
December 16, 2008

When I first heard that Barack Obama said he had decided to include his middle name, “Hussein,” in his swearing-in ceremony, I wondered whether the satirical Web site ScrappleFace had tricked the mainstream media.

Surely, after Obama’s acolytes scolded commentators for using Barack’s Muslim-sounding middle name during the campaign, the president-elect himself wouldn’t so quickly reverse course. But, in fact, he did.

In an exclusive interview with the Chicago Tribune, Obama said he’ll use his full name in the ceremony like every other president.

More

This article reminds me of a conversation I had with my taxi driver when I was in the Bahamas last week.  Being black, I expected him to be pro-Obama when he asked me what I thought of his election, so as to be polite I deftly maneuvered the conversation around the question until he committed himself by telling me he didn’t believe Hussein knew what he was getting into and agreed with me that Hussein was going to find out being president is a lot harder than running for president.  He further went on to state that there was no way Hussein was ever going to be able to keep all the promises he made to get elected.  Then the conversation worked its way over to Iraq and I was again surprised when he said that the US was totally justified in going to Iraq to depose Saddam Hussein, whether he had WMD or not.  He told me had watched a documentary on how evil Saddam was and the atrocities he had committed and was fully convinced that Saddam had to die for his crimes, which made the invasion absolutely necessary.  He never came out and said that Bush was a good president or a hero, but he emphasized several times that the US HAD to go in and take out Saddam.  It was interesting to get a non-American viewpoint that was so closely aligned with what I thought.  And in closing, no matter what anyone says about Bush, you have to admit what all he did made us safe from terror for the last 8 years.  I sincerely doubt the same will ever be said about the other Hussein, the one called Obama.

Republicans Bracing for Fight on Judges

By: Tim Collie

Faced with the first president to ever participate in a Senate filibuster of judicial nominees, Republicans are bracing for a liberal tide that could radically alter the federal bench.

Some fear that Barack Obama, who, to the chagrin of liberals, has chosen moderates for his cabinet, will pay back his troubled left-wing base with left-wing judgeships.

“Judges will be an issue where Obama throws a lot of crumbs to his political base,” Curt Levey, an attorney executive director of the conservative Committee for Justice, told The Washington Post. “People are worried. Obama has been unusually unabashed about believing in an activist role for judges.”

What’s at stake? While the media and the public’s attention is often focused on Supreme Court vacancies, important rulings are issued, and precedent set, by the 179-judge federal circuit courts and the 678-judge U.S. District Courts. The circuit courts of appeals, which cover the nation’s 13 federal judicial circuits, decide more than 30,000 cases a year. By comparison, the Supreme Court takes fewer than 100 new cases each year.

source

I really, really hope the Republicans are up for a lot of payback to the Dimocraps who have stonewalled, delayed, rebuffed, and refused so many of Bush’s conservative appointees to judicial posts over the years.  They should be reminded that what comes around goes around.  They denied us posts on the judiciary, now it is our turn to pay them back in kind and deny them, treat them exactly the way they treated us.  The only flaw in my theory is that I have serious doubts that the Republicans in the Senate have enough backbone, willpower, determination, or guts to stand up to Hussein and the liberal Dimocraps and oppose radical nominations.  I am afraid RINO’s and moderates like the failure McCain will “reach across the aisle” and vote to affirm even the worst of Hussein’s nominations in the false hope of cooperation, as if showing any cooperation to a cobra or a rattler is in any way going to convince the viper not to bite you and fill you with poison.

The filibuster may be the one and only way to save our once proud and great nation from a communist/fascist grave but I still fear the wimpy Repubs in the Senate will be too afraid of his Mightiness Hussein and Almighty Reid and Pelosi to use it effectively, unlike the Dims who used it to their best ability when they were the minority party.

Google cranks up the Consensus Engine

Google cranks up the Consensus Engine
By Andrew Orlowski

Posted in Music and Media, 12th December 2008 19:38 GMT

Google this week admitted that its staff will pick and choose what appears in its search results. It’s a historic statement – and nobody has yet grasped its significance.

Not so very long ago, Google disclaimed responsibility for its search results by explaining that these were chosen by a computer algorithm. The disclaimer lives on at Google News, where we are assured that:

Catch the rest here

Does anyone know of any better alternative search engines to Google?  We all know that entire company is so biased to the left they are apt to fall of the edge at any time.  Once again it takes a British paper to educate and inform the US people about what goes on in our own country, something the biased, liberal US media can’t, or more likely, won’t do, if it serves their purposes and reaches their ends.

A public policy organization has issued an urgent alert stating affirmative votes are needed from only two more states before a Constitutional Convention could be assembled in which “today’s corrupt politicians and judges” could formally change the U.S. Constitution’s “‘problematic’ provisions to reflect the philosophical and social mores of our contemporary society.”

I am amazed at the longevity of this article.  I figured it would have a very short life span, but I was wrong.  Usually I employ hit and run tactics, I hit by commenting, and then run by never going back to the thread again, but something, maybe the danger lurking behind the scenes, lured me back to this one.  Reading the responses compiled after my first one, I have come back with another vision of what could take place instead of a Civil War or a military coup.  I can see a mass Secession, which of course, could in turn, lead to a new Civil War itself as an aftereffect.  But I can see totally red states, like Texas and a lot of the South and Mountain West seceding from a fascist, socialist union dominated by and constructed by the liberal elites of New England and the Pacific Coast, in effect splitting the former United States of America in two, the Western half and the Eastern Half, with a new union that retains the original US Constitution forming out of the rest of the country.  Whether a mass secession like that, or even a smaller secession of one or two states would lead to a Civil War would be an interesting question, given the current state of US and world affairs, as would be the loyalty of the US military in such a case.  Would they defend the country, as would be defined by the liberal coasts with the newly rewritten socialist constitution, or would they defend the original US Constitution as adhered to by the newly seceded states?  Perhaps you former military men would have more insight on what would be the case in such a scenario, which I believe is as highly possible as others that have been put forth in this thread.

Madoff Made Hefty Political Contributions to Top Officials

Fox News

It reads like a who’s who of liberal Democrats: Clinton, Corzine, Dodd, Schumer, Kerry, Markey, Rangel, Bradley, Lautenberg … and yes, even Obama.

And what they all have in common is Bernard Madoff and his company of lies.

In fact, the disgraced one-time Nasdaq boss and founder of an investment firm that authorities say brokered one of the biggest Ponzi schemes in Wall Street history also liberally sprinkled a portion of his allegedly ill-gotten billions to help further the political fortunes of his favorite candidates and their campaigns — it appears to the tune of more than $400,000.

Bird of a feather and all that.  By the way was this guy Madoff from Chicago by any chance?

Sun-Times: Obama’s Senate Seat is a ‘Black Senate Seat’

NewsBusters

Betcha didn’t know that the elected office of Senator of the United States of America was a color coded position? Apparently, Laura Washington of the Chicago Sun-Times thinks it is, anyway, because she is warning that Obama’s “black Senate seat” will be lost because of this mess with Governor Rod Blagojevich getting arrested for trying to sell that “black seat” to the highest bidder.

In hers headlined “Black leaders see Senate seat being hijacked,” Washington is ostensibly reporting on what black community leaders and politicos in Chicago are saying about who should be appointed to fill Obama’s vacant seat. Still, Washington injected quite a lot of her own feelings into the tale of this gnashing of teeth and rending of cloth over the fate of that same seat to the effect that she endorses the idea that Obama’s position in the Senate is officially a “black seat” and should stay that way.

More

Was it ‘black’ before Hussein held it?  Is there a law or rule or even an agreement somewhere that says it is ‘black?’  I always thought, and my copy of the US Constitution still says Senate seats are voted upon by the voters of the state.  It doesn’t say anything about color or race or quotas or anything like that.  Who is this Laura Washington of the Sun-Times anyway?  Did everybody else die and leave her boss?

Jailed Border Agents Fate Still Unclear

Newsmax

The fate of two border agents convicted of shooting a fleeing illegal drug runner remains in limbo, despite avalanches of support for the commutation of their sentences pouring into both the White House and the Justice Department’s Office of Pardon Attorney.

Reportedly, both cases are now under active review by the Pardon Attorney — after an administrative delay caused by the men appealing their sentences through the normal channels of justice.

Last month, a federal judge in Texas left intact the 11-year sentence for Ignacio Ramos and also the 12-year sentence for Jose Compean in the shooting case of Mexican drug smuggler Osvaldo Aldrete-Davila.

More

As usual, in the mixed-up, upside-down, convoluted US justice system, the criminals have more rights and get better treatment than the victims, the murderous dope dealer goes free and the law enforcers go to prison.  It is clearly analogous to the Planet of the Apes, where the libs and Dims are the Apes, obviously.

I, too have signed petitions and emailed Bush several times to pardon these men.  Hopefully with this news it will be done immediately.

That’s what happens when you needlessly run up the score on everybody every chance you get and humiliate your opponents by scoring way more points than necessary and rubbing their faces in the dirt.  If Mack Brown was a classless jerk like Stoops and kept the first team in nearly the whole game to brutally crush his opponents unnecessarily like Stoops, perhaps the outcome of both the BCS and the Heisman would be different.  But Mack Brown has more class in his little finger than Stoops has in his whole body.

Brown: Atheists Post Hateful Christmas Sign

By Floyd and Mary Beth Brown
December 13, 2008

“Freedom of speech was never meant to be a license for fringe groups to insult and antagonize the rest of us,” says Larry Stickney, President of the Washington Values Alliance. “While we must all do our best to respect the opinion of those we don’t agree with,” he says, “the 1st Amendment also guarantees our constitutional right to carry on our nation’s religious culture and traditions and we should be able to do so without petty harassment.”

The saga all started in October when Washington State gave a permit to a Wisconsin-based atheist group to display its sign alongside a Christian Nativity scene in the state’s Capitol in Olympia. The lengthy message on the sign states in part, “At this season of the Winter Solstice, may reason prevail. There are no gods, no devils, no angels, no heaven or hell.” It then goes into hateful attack mode, saying, “There is only our natural world. Religion is but myth and superstition that hardens hearts and enslaves minds.”

More

Stickney says:

“In their world, it’s okay to verbally pummel tens of thousands of Christians and disrespect their holidays, but don’t you dare open your mouth disparagingly about a minority religion or a deviant sexual lifestyle or you will likely be fired and/or charged with a hate crime.” Stickney summarizes: “The constitutional right to exercise free speech anytime and anywhere applies to liberals and their politically correct causes and classifications only.”

I’ve been saying the same thing myself for years.  Christians get beat up on and abused like this with PC BS all the time and are too afraid, or too morally good, to fight back, even when they need to.  The Left doesn’t play by any rules, moral, ethical, or legal, and thus wins all the battles and you have seen the results as they have taken over and devolved our culture, while we stood back and watched or slept and let it happen.  It is time for Christians and the Right to fight back as well before we are buried under a liberal social avalanche and our country and our lifestyle is destroyed and taken from us forever, never to be brought back.

Hawkins: Five Short Economics Lessons For the Age of Obama

John Hawkins
Townhall

“If all we want are jobs, we can create any number — for example, have people dig holes and then fill them up again, or perform other useless tasks. Work is sometimes its own reward. Mostly, however, it is the price we pay to get the things we want. Our real objective is not just jobs but productive jobs — jobs that will mean more goods and services to consume.” — Milton Friedman

Barack Obama and the Democratic Party seem to have fallen in love with the idea of “make work” jobs. In other words, they’re going to take money from taxpayers and then use it to “create green jobs,” work projects, and other marginally useful government programs. Then, to add insult to injury, these very same politicians who’ve taken the money out of working people’s pockets will pat themselves on their backs for being compassionate enough to put people to work.

More

If you collect welfare, or any other sort of dole, should be required to work for it anyway.  Instead of idiotically importing more foreign workers or giving imaginary rights and amnesty to those criminals already here illegally, keep them out and let the millions of unemployed citizens have the jobs.  Allowing more foreign workers in at the same time that unemployment is rampant is akin to asking for more money at the same time you’re throwing what you already have out the window.  Wait, the Dimocraps do that already too.  Even if Hussein and his socialist allies do create a new WPA or equivalent, they will give all the job contracts to their cronies who will profit immensely from it as a reward for their support for Hussein, and all the projects they create will be made in order to further the socialist and global-warming goals of the new regime.  Corruption breeds corruption and if anybody knows that it is Hussein and his teammates from the Capitol of Corruption, Chicago.

Straw Man? Historians say Obama is no Lincoln

By JOHN F. HARRIS & ALEXANDER BURNS
Politico

In Barack Obama’s appearance last month on CBS’s “60 Minutes,” the conversation turned to the president-elect’s long-time love of Lincoln.

“There is a wisdom there,” Obama told interviewer Steve Kroft, “and a humility about his approach to government, even before he was president, that I just find very helpful.”

Humility? Obama’s frequent invocations of Abraham Lincoln — a man enshrined in myth and marble with his own temple on the National Mall — would not at first blush say much about his own instincts for modesty or self-effacement.

More

Hussein’s gone beyond casting himself as Lincoln.  He has cast himself as a god, or a demigod at least, on earth.  Witness the classical Greek temple for his nomination, and all the talk about the One.  He doesn’t aspire to be a legendary president, that is “below his pay grade.”  He aspires to be deity.  Reminds me of warnings I’ve read somewhere about an Anti-Christ.

Despite the nation experiencing its tenth straight year of temperatures cooler than 1998’s peak, and much of New England experiencing its worst ice storm in decades (video embedded right), the Associated Press on Sunday published one of the most hysterical articles concerning global warming I’ve ever seen.

In writer Seth Borenstein’s view, climate change is “a ticking time bomb that President-elect Barack Obama can’t avoid.”

“Global warming is accelerating. Time is close to running out, and Obama knows it.”

Where’s Rod Serling?

More

Yeah, I read the original article in the AP, and much like its one-sided, disgustingly bias support of Hussein in the election, the AP once again proves beyond a shadow of a doubt its ultra-liberal, far-left leaning.  This is an article of nothing but personal opinion and Al Sore style chicken-little propaganda, presenting controversial evidence as proven fact.  It, in effect, tells you if you don’t believe in the farce of global warming you are hopelessly out of touch and an idiot, assuming unproven theories as gospel truth with minimal effort given to note opposition to it.  My personal theory, and fear, is that in order to combat the mythical warming, mankind is going to go on such an anti-warming kick that it will unwittingly usher in a new ice age before its natural time by unnaturally cooling the earth when it doesn’t need to be.

Hudson: Change Is Coming To The Nation’s Abortion Laws

By Deal W. Hudson
December 15, 2008

Go to Change.gov, the web site of president-elect Obama, and you find a document entitled “Advancing Reproductive Rights and Health in a New Administration.” Signed by dozens of pro-abortion groups, including Catholics for Choice, this 55-page document provides an overview of the marching orders for the Obama administration in removing all present restrictions on abortions while dramatically increasing abortion funding.

Anyone who has bought into the myth that Obama is “moderating” his positions should notice that the first section is entitled “Steps for the First Hundred Days.” The groups that have spent millions supporting pro-abortion members of Congress, including Obama and Biden, aren’t in the mood to wait.

If this indeed happens, Hussein should go down in history as the Death President and as one of the worst mass murderers in history for his promotion and advocacy of so many murders of unborn children.  The world is already an evil place and with this monster in the White House with its powers at his command, it will become a much, much more evil place, not only for these murders he will allow, make us fund, and encourage, but for all the other evil he will bring in moral depravity and economic catastrophe.  I truly wish the world was wise enough to see him for what he truly is, not only a murderer of innocent children but evil to the core.

I also wonder how much longer I will have the right to write such words about the Evil One before that is taken away too.

Lamb: Here’s Your Change!

By Henry Lamb
December 15, 2008

For more than 20 years, the politically-correct liberal elitists have ridiculed the “black helicopter crowd” whenever the words “world government” were uttered. Global governance, however, is a perfectly acceptable term which the U.N. says is somehow different from world government.

According to the U.N., “Governance is not government — it is the framework of rules, institutions, and practices that set limits on the behavior of individuals, organizations and companies.” (UNDP Human Development Report, 1999, page 34).

Any institution that has the power to issue rules and that limits the behavior of individuals, organizations and companies — is a government. When those rules apply worldwide, it is world government.

More

This line first reached out and grabbed me:

According to the U.N., “Governance is not government — it is the framework of rules, institutions, and practices that set limits on the behavior of individuals, organizations and companies.” (UNDP Human Development Report, 1999, page 34).

Anything, government of government in another name, such as governance, that SETS LIMITS instead of guaranteeing RIGHTS to individuals, organizations, and companies, is inherently evil.  That is why our founding fathers in their wisdom granted us perpetual rights in the Constitution instead of limiting what we could do.  Since the UN in its own words, seeks to limit our rights as it sees fit, that should be warning enough to steer clear and stay away from this dangerous body.  It is a socialist, fascist dream come true.  And as a socialist/fascist himself, Hussein will indeed set us on this path to global governance, turning our country, its people, its economy, its money, its power, and its morality over this bloated, overpaid, anti-American, anti-Christian, socialist, corrupt organization.  After all his ultimate goal is not to just be President of the US, but King of the World as witnessed by his campaign rally in Germany.  The future is indeed dark and troubling, reminding me of that ancient curse, “may you live in interesting times.”

Segel: Making The Case For Christmas From ‘Jesusland’

By Thomas D. Segel
December 15, 2008

The Christmas season is really in the air. Last night we joined a group of carolers who visited with children in a Christian community filled with homes that are dedicated to caring for abandoned children and children removed from abusive families. Along with the sounds of the season they brought armloads of wrapped gifts for the youngsters who ranged in age from one year to their teens.

The next stop for this busload of Santa’s helpers was a group home for the elderly, where they entertained a group of smiling and sometimes tearful senior citizens of very advanced age.

More

This really makes me homesick for Texas.  I wish the whole country was Jesusland once again where nearly all communities were like this once upon a time, long ago.  Of course that was before the Dimocraps, the liberals, and socialist deftly took control of the education and communication systems of the country through seemingly docile stealth tactics and used them to subvert the rest of the country into their socialist, anti-Christian playground.  And now they run most of the show, except deep in the Red States of Jesusland.

State Bar of AZ to censor First Amendment rights of attorneys on gay issues

Posted by Rachel Alexander
December 15, 2008 at 7:39 am

Throwing our constitutional rights of free speech and freedom of association down the drain, the State Bar of Arizona is considering a revision to the attorneys’ oath of office that would silence conservative viewpoints on gay issues. The oath would be revised to add the language in red as follows:

“I will not permit considerations of gender, race, religion, age, nationality, sexual orientation, disability, or social standing to influence my duty of care.”

My email to the president of the Arizona Bar Association:

Who the Hell do you think you are to try to impose your version of what is right or wrong in independent lawyers through this ludicrous and ridiculous revision to the attorney’s oath of office?  What are you, the Thought Police, the Mind Crimes Unit, the KGB, the Gestapo?  How can you even consider taking away lawyers’ US Constitution-guaranteed rights with such an asinine, unconstitutional addition to the oath?  Who the Hell do you think you are to tell them what they can say or think or take away their right to freely exercise their religion and its beliefs?  Are you on some kind of power trip or a socialist, anti-Christian, anti-religion crusade with an agenda to silence against all their rights those who disagree with you?  What a liberal two-faced, hypocritical move.  Like all liberal hypocrites you must think its all right to say whatever you want or do whatever you want, no matter how immoral or depraved, as long as I agree with it, but if I disagree you have no rights at all.   Even your own members can see through your socialist agenda and oppose this ignorant effort to strip them of their moral and religious rights.  Seriously, you need to kill this pathetic intrusion on the rights of lawyers and get rid of this appalling addition to the oath.  Right now.

Russian warships bound for Cuba in new show of strength

AFP

A group of Russian warships will from December 19-23 visit the Communist island of Cuba, a long-time adversary of the United States and Moscow’s ally in the Cold War, the Russian navy said on Monday.

“This will be the first visit to Cuba by Russian warships since the Soviet era,” the Russian naval headquarters said in a statement.

The destroyer Admiral Chabanenko and two other ships will visit Havana in what the navy described as a “significant practical step towards strengthening and developing ties between the two states’ navies.”

Six Myths About the RNC Race

Jim Geraghty
NRO

Conservative blogging circles are abuzz with speculation about who will become the next Republican National Committee chair. The position represents one of the three highest-profile positions in the GOP, alongside the party leaders in the House and Senate. Those latter positions will be retained by Rep. John Boehner and Sen. Mitch McConnell despite a supremely disappointing 2007-2008 cycle. Current RNC Chairman Mike Duncan is running for another term — and many race watchers think it’s possible that RNC members will give him another two years on the job — but if the GOP is looking for new blood and a fresh face among its leadership, it will have to happen at the RNC’s winter meeting on January 29.

As Republicans reflect on which candidate for the RNC chair can best lead the party for the next two years, though, clouded thinking runs rampant — much of it based on the misperception that winning a majority of the 165 votes needed to become chairman requires the same skill set as winning a general election. For the sake of clarity, let’s clear up some myths about what makes a good party chairman.

More

Amazing what the lugnuts in charge of the GOP do.  If a college or pro football coach got their butts beaten so soundly and repeatedly over the last few years like this GOP leadership, they would be out looking for jobs, but our glorious “leaders” in the party keep putting them back in charge for more losing seasons.  Reminds me of Einstein’s quote about insanity, doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results.  If there was a viable, conservative alternative to this seemingly dysfunctional morass that calls itself today’s Republican Party, I would jump ship in a heartbeat.

Saunders: Free The California 52,000?

By Debra Saunders
December 15, 2008

A panel of three federal judges is holding a trial to determine whether to free 52,000 of California’s 172,000 prison inmates to alleviate overcrowding. You might be asking yourself: Who elected these guys to run California?

One of the three judges, U.S. District Judge Thelton Henderson, determined in 2005 that California’s prison health care system is so bad that it’s unconstitutional. He put the system in receivership and appointed law professor Clark Kelso to oversee prison health care.

Now Kelso is demanding $8 billion to renovate the system — even though the state is spending about $14,000 on health care per inmate, according to the Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation. (California’s total health care spending was $169 billion in 2006, the California Medical Association’s Ned Wigglesworth told me, which divided by 37 million comes to about $4,600 per head — or a third of what is spent on the incarcerated.)

More

Once again the inmates run the asylum.  Or more specifically in this case, unelected judges run the prisons.  And make life better there than for those outside.  The so-called “rights” of the criminals carry far more weight than the rights of their victims.  At least to this liberal so-called judges.

Evangelical leader resigns amid controversial comments

The controversial Washington lobbyist for the National Association of Evangelicals (NAE) has resigned after he created a stir by expressing support for homosexual civil unions.

Richard Cizik has resigned as vice president for governmental affairs for the NAE. In a statement to NAE board members, acting president Leith Anderson cited “a loss of trust in his [Cizik's] credibility as a spokesperson among leaders and constituencies.”

Obama speech would be a ’sign of weakness’

Chad Groening – OneNewsNow – 12/12/2008 6:00:00 AM

A couple of prominent Islamic critics are concerned about Barack Obama’s plans to give “a major address” in an Islamic capital soon after taking office.

In an interview with the Chicago Tribune, the president-elect said he wants to mend America’s image in the Muslim world. “I think we’ve got a unique opportunity to reboot America’s image around the world and also in the Muslim world in particular,” he stated.

Like I said up above, Hussein wants to be King of the World so he needs to campaign in Arab nations as well as Europe.  All he will do in this case is give legitimacy and encouragement to radical Muslim terrorists.  Can you imagine how tight security would have to be for an American president, even this one, to give a speech in an Arab country?  He could be flirting with disaster.  On second thought, maybe we should encourage him to go.

Senate Finance Chairman: Congress Must Spend Money to ‘Show it Cares’

Washington (CNSNews.com) – Sen. Max Baucus (D-Mont.), the chairman of the Senate Finance Committee, said the federal government is going to have to spend a “significant” amount of money if it is going to get the country out of its current economic troubles — despite rapidly ballooning federal deficits, historic unemployment, and the hundreds of billions already spent.

“One thing we’ve learned from past recessions, is that you’ve just got to spend money to get out of it,” he said, in response to questions from CNSNews.com.

Baucus said there wasn’t any formula behind that spending, saying that it would be up to Congress to determine the best course for economic recovery.

More

The idiocy of the Dimocraps knows no end.  This Baucus fool must be one of the most stupid of the lot.  Obviously from his statements he knows absolutely nothing about economics or deficits.  The lunacy of the Dimocraps is what has gotten us into this mess over the course of many years and decades.  There ought to be an economics intelligence test before someone can be elected to Congress.  Of course the libs and socialists would probably bias that to the left as they do every thing else.

Murtha Maintains He Was Right to Say Marines ‘Killed Innocent Civilians in Cold Blood’

(CNSNews.com) – Although all of the charges have been dropped against all of the Marines – except for one – involved in the killing of Iraqi civilians in Haditha in 2005, Rep. John Murtha (D-Pa.) said he stands by his May 2006 remarks that the Marines involved “killed innocent civilians in cold blood.”

“Yes, I think it was,” the right thing to say, Murtha told CNSNews.com on Wednesday. “That’s my job. My job is due. Listen, the NCIS (Naval Criminal Investigation Service) came to exactly the same conclusion I did.”

“They had a two-star general investigate it,” said Murtha. “General Hagee went over right after I spoke out and talked to all of the Marines in the field and said ‘you got to stop this kind of killing.’”

How does this jerk keep getting elected?  He criticizes and demoralizes our troops.  He calls the people he represents racists and rednecks.  Yet they are so stupid they keep sending this a-hole back to Washington.  He needs to be tried for treason for his statements against the troops and the war effort and summarily punished with extreme prejudice.

Bailout dead, automakers in search of a lifeline

By KEN THOMAS and JULIE HIRSCHFELD DAVIS
Associated Press
December 12, 2008

WASHINGTON (AP) — Their efforts in Congress squashed, U.S. automakers are depending upon a reluctant White House to quickly provide a multibillion lifeline to help them avoid imminent collapse.

General Motors Corp. and Chrysler LLC, which have said they could run out of cash within weeks, have few options left after the dramatic defeat in the Senate of a $14 billion bailout for the domestic auto industry.

Its demise late Thursday prompted immediate calls from lawmakers in both parties for the Bush administration to tap into the $700 billion Wall Street bailout to rescue the beleaguered auto industry. The bill failed after talks broke down over the refusal of the United Auto Workers union to meet Republican demands for aggressive wage reductions.

More

This is the first time that I can remember that I have been proud of the Republicans in the Senate for taking a stand and holding it.  They did exactly as I had wished they would do.  I don’t know what will happen next but if the automakers go down, the UAW can take all the blame, if they all lose their jobs it is their own fault because they have always been too corrupt and greedy.  They are the ones who drove the automakers to the brink and now they are the ones to fall off into it after they pushed their employers over.  I sincerely hope the Bush administration doesn’t cave in to the pressure and take the UAW off the hook, but given the past recent socialist actions by this supposed conservative president and his team, I have my doubts.  But I would LOVE to see the UAW broken and the US automakers put on a par with the Japs so they can compete again.  Ch. 11 is their only hope without Congress nationalizing the auto industry like they have banking and finance.

U.S. now only 2 states away from rewriting Constitution
Critic: ‘This is a horrible time to try such a crazy scheme’

A public policy organization has issued an urgent alert stating affirmative votes are needed from only two more states before a Constitutional Convention could be assembled in which “today’s corrupt politicians and judges” could formally change the U.S. Constitution’s “‘problematic’ provisions to reflect the philosophical and social mores of our contemporary society.”

http://www.worldnetdaily.co m/index.php?fa=PAGE.vi ew&pageId=83364

If this is true, then perhaps THIS would be the start of a new Civil War in the US.  Even as cynical as I am, and I admit I am pretty bad, I have serious doubts that this would take place.  I optimistically believe the hurdles, both legal and political, would be too much to overcome to completely rewrite the US Constitution into a Marxist/Communist one.  And if there ever was to be such an attempt I would hope that the faithful would fall into the streets like an army and stop at nothing to prevent this from taking place, even going so far as to start a Second American Revolution to prevent this usurpation of our sacred Constitution.  This, among all things, would really be a cause to go to war with the Left.

What would YOU do?

I hear many people say “over (my) cold, dead body” when the question arises about surrendering their guns. How do you think most Americans with guns would react to a call to turn them in? So many of us are “law-abiding” citizens, not comfortable with bucking authority. I can see ignoring the demand to take your guns to turn them in, but if an “officer of the law” came to your door, how would you deal with that? I am very interested to hear from others here on that topic.

http://www.gopusa.com/forum/showthread.php?t=56083

I know Mama and the Preacher and everybody else says it is wrong to lie, but in this case, LIE like the Devil, because it is him who has come for your guns and ryour right to protect yourself.  First of all I would make sure they were well hidden, enough to survive a search with a warrant.  Then if they came asking, I would lie like the Dickens.  I would say I was out hunting and I slipped and lost it in the river.  Or I would say I gave it to my cousin, Joe, and he moved out of town and I have no idea where he went.  I’m sure you could think of many ways to explain the loss of the gun.  One thing I would caution against would be to say it was stolen, because then the Law would ask why you didn’t report it stolen.

Chavez: Troubling Questions For Obama Team

By Linda Chavez
December 12, 2008

A corruption scandal in President-elect Obama’s backyard is the last thing this country needs. But like it or not, that’s exactly what we have in the unfolding drama of Illinois Gov. Rod Blagojevich’s arrest earlier this week for trying to sell Barack Obama’s Senate seat. The federal prosecutor in the case — Patrick Fitzgerald, the man whose investigation of the Valerie Plame leak case nearly paralyzed the Bush White House for a time — has made it clear that nothing ties Obama directly to the Blagojevich scheme. But the timing of Fitzgerald’s announcement raises some serious questions.

Apparently, Fitzgerald knew that Blagojevich was trolling for bidders for the Obama seat in the waning days of the general election. Before the first votes were counted to elect Obama president, Blagojevich was so confident in Obama’s victory he was already soliciting bids for the seat. And Fitzgerald already had substantial evidence that Blagojevich was engaged in major corruption before the governor put a “for sale” sign on the Senate seat. So why didn’t the federal prosecutor act prior to the election? Had he done so, of course, it could have damaged Obama.

More

Chavez says:

The president-elect’s credibility is on the line. For the good of the country, we must all hope this scandal doesn’t infect anyone in the new administration. The best way to ensure that is for the president-elect and his aides to be forthcoming quickly.

Hussein has no credibility already.  It is already pretty plain he is guilty as sin in his association with this criminal and so many others like him in Chicago.  Yet he will lie, obfuscate, spin, deny, and of course the worshipping press and media will let him get away with it just like they did with every other potential scandal they knocked down, buried, hid, and made go away during the election.  They, the MSM, chose him and elected him.  No way are they going to allow him to be taken down after all the effort they put into making him their President Messiah.

North: Dear Car Czar

By Oliver North
December 12, 2008

To Whom It May Concern:

Forgive the ambiguity of the salutation; I didn’t know whether to address this missive to House Speaker Nancy Pelosi or Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, and “Dear Car Czar” just sounded so, well, tacky.

Let’s cut to the chase. I need a new car. I’m not asking for a bailout or anything like that. I just need some good advice, and I am hoping one or all of you can help. Here are the facts:

First, we only buy American cars in my family. My dad fought in World War II, and I always have been afraid he would rise up out of the grave and haunt me if I bought one of those Japanese or German machines. Perhaps you can recommend a pill or some kind of counseling for this problem.

More

Oliver only briefly touched on the subject but even if the Commicrats in Congress bail out the automakers (and appease their solid voting base and campaign contributors, the UAW) they will attach so many strings to the money, in the way of outlandish and unworkable regulations and restraints that there will be no way for the automakers to return to profitability, with Big Brother in DC bearing down on their every move and making them operate with unsound business practices.  The Dimocraps in Congress can’t even run a legislature properly, what in the world makes them think they can run a car company?  The ONLY way out is to break the power of the UAW and the unions so the automakers can compete on a par with the Japs and Euros.

Limbaugh: No More Bailouts

By David Limbaugh
December 12, 2008

If our government’s economic experts really knew what they were doing, they wouldn’t be frenetically experimenting with the people’s money, treating billions like nickels. They wouldn’t be so hellbent on dampening expectations and instilling fear as if oblivious to the real impact of public psychology on the economy.

I’m just not buying their doomsaying anymore. Even if they’re right and we do end up in a full-scale financial meltdown, at least it will be finite and America’s best days will still be ahead of us. But if we don’t stop this panic-driven government intervention madness now, the chances are we’ll still face a major meltdown and pass the point of no return into the bottomless pit of socialism.

The auto bailout and future proposed gargantuan government interventions must be rejected.

More

Limbaugh said:

Conservatives better start screaming bloody murder, or the market enemies soon to dominate two of the three branches of the federal government with a lust for the third could build a socialist momentum that would be difficult to restrain, much less reverse.

Enough is enough.

I am afraid the US already started on the slippery slide down into socialist and communist oblivion when the fools and idiots elected Hussein as President Messiah.  And with each passing day the slope gets even more steep and will be impossible to stop, like an avalanche rolling downhill to obliterate everything in its path, including the Bill of Rights as well as the economy.

As for the automakers, even if the Commicrats in Congress bail out the automakers (and appease their solid voting base and campaign contributors, the UAW) they will attach so many strings to the money, in the way of outlandish and unworkable regulations and restraints that there will be no way for the automakers to return to profitability, with Big Brother in DC bearing down on their every move and making them operate with unsound business practices.  The Dimocraps in Congress can’t even run a legislature properly, what in the world makes them think they can run a car company?  The ONLY way out is to break the power of the UAW and the unions so the automakers can compete on a par with the Japs and Euros.

Report: Obama to Offer Israel ‘Nuclear Umbrella’ Against Iran

Fox News

President-elect Barack Obama will offer Israel a strategic pact designed to fend off any nuclear attack on the Jewish state by Iran, an Israeli newspaper reported on Thursday.

Haaretz, quoting an unnamed source, said the Obama administration would pledge under the proposed “nuclear umbrella” to respond to any Iranian strike on Israel with a “devastating U.S. nuclear response.”

Granting Israel a nuclear guarantee would essentially suggest the U.S. is willing to come to terms with a nuclear Iran, the paper reported.

According to the paper’s source, Obama’s nuclear guarantee would be backed by a new and improved Israeli anti-ballistic missile system. The Bush administration took the first step by deploying an early-warning radar system, which enhances the ability to detect Iranian ballistic missiles.

More

I know I read somewhere that Hussein stated emphatically that he wanted the whole world nuclear-free and would start with unilaterally disarming the US to prove his point.  Now he says he will protect Israel with a nuclear shield?  What gives?  Which is the lie?  If I was Israel I would be looking for my own protection and not be depending on the undependable known liar Hussein.  I believe he is such a pacifist like Chamberlin before WWII that he would sacrifice Israel rather than provoke the world into a nuclear war.  In any case, the future of this world in which we will be living after Hussein takes office will be very, very scary no matter how you look at it.

House Republicans Unveil Free-Market Solution For Big Three

Connie Hair
Human Events

The U.S. House GOP leadership Wednesday unveiled their own “no bailout alternative” to counter the Democrat’s proposed bailout of the United Auto Workers (UAW) union and the Big Three automakers. Represented by Minority Leader John Boehner (R-Ohio), Minority Whip Eric Cantor (R-Va) and Rep. Mike Pence (R-Ind.), the newly-elected Chairman of the Republican Conference, Republicans offered for consideration the American Automotive Reorganization and Recovery Plan, a free-market solution to counter the immediate $15 billion taxpayer-funded bailout proposed by the Democrat leadership in Congress.

In a written statement, Boehner voiced concerns with the Democrat bailout plan.

More

This plan makes too much plain economic sense for the senseless, idiotic Dimocraps and their leadership to go along.  At least, it finally shows, however, that the Republicans do have an alternative plan to offer, even if it is doomed to failure, instead of going along with the Dimocraps on a bad plan.  At any rate I like the Senate plan better.  Break the power of the unions to hold the automakers hostage with their outrageous, costly demands.

And those of you who feel the unions are the major, if not sole cause of the US auto industry’s looming demise are not nearly alone.  Almost everybody I know thinks the same way.  The only way for the industry to survive is to destroy the choking unions.

Specter seeks to slow down Holder confirmation

The Hill

Sen. Arlen Specter (R-Pa.), the ranking member of the Judiciary Committee, wants to slow down the process of confirming Eric Holder attorney general, citing lingering concerns about the nominee’s role in the 2001 pardon of Marc Rich.

Specter said his concerns do not suggest he would oppose Holder, but said starting the hearings before Jan. 26 is “not realistic or fair.”

Earlier this week Judiciary Committee Chairman Patrick Leahy (D-Vt.) set a Jan. 8 confirmation hearing date for Holder and said he would like the nominee confirmed by the time President-elect Obama takes office on Jan. 20.

More

The Senate GOP’s plans should be to slow down Holder’s nomination forever, or until Hussein submits someone else.

Fabrizio: State Of The Unions

By Lisa Fabrizio
December 11, 2008

I have a friend named Mike who is a very intelligent and sensible man. He is a strong supporter of lower taxes, the rule of law, the military and especially of the right to keep and bear arms; he is, in fact, a long-time NRA member. This man takes the time to be well-informed on current events and is always on top of pending legislation. In short, he has all the makings of a genuine conservative except for one fatal flaw: he is an ardent union member.

When talk of all but the most radical political candidates is raised, he will, after talking a good game about the strengths of the Republican candidate, invariably vote for the Democrat. He was a vocal supporter of George W. Bush in 2000 but–like the old-time base-stealer who had larceny in his heart but whose feet were honest–his good intentions went by the board and he pulled the lever for Al Gore. I thought we had him after the attacks of 9/11, but even as much as he admired President Bush’s conduct of the defense of our country, he continued down the donkey path.

More

Unions are an anachronism whose time has passed.  While they may have served a purpose in the past, the social and political environment has changed so much since then, that with all the safeguards and protections afforded by legislation and courts for workers’ rights, unions are no longer necessary.  The only purpose they serve now is their self-perpetuation and making and keeping money and power for their leaders, along with a lot of liberal if not socialist or communist political activism.  Unions should go the way of the dinosaur.  They should be abolished.

Driving continues to decline as gas prices drop

By JOAN LOWY
Associated Press
December 12, 2008

WASHINGTON (AP) — Drivers clocked 9 billion fewer miles on the nation’s roads in October even while gas prices were dropping, suggesting a downturn in driving that began a year ago is attributable to more than just energy costs.

Federal Highway Administration data released Friday show the number of miles driven dropped 3.5 percent in October compared with the same month a year ago. Between November 2007, when the driving decline began, and October, Americans drove 100 billion fewer miles. That’s the largest continuous decline in driving the nation has experienced.

Gas prices averaged $3.15 a gallon in October, down from a high of $4.09 in July, according to the Energy Information Administration.

Unfortunately the fall in oil prices is a mixed blessing, sort of like the opposite of a silver lining.  What would that be, a black lining?  In any case, with the new availability of cheap oil, it takes the pressure off Hussein and the Dims to drill offshore and we will STILL be dependent upon Arabs and South Americans that hate us for our oil survivability the NEXT time prices spike.  I firmly believe we still need to drill for our own oil, no matter what the prices are, to become independent of unfriendly and unreliable foreign sources.

Towery: Why More And More Politicians Are Rotten To The Core

By Matt Towery
December 11, 2008

That the governor of Illinois would attempt to sell a U.S. Senate seat didn’t shock me. Across America, there is a growing sense of entitlement among more and more elected officials. Not all, of course, but too many.

From city councils to Congress, elected positions have evolved from their intended part-time status to full-time obsessions. And as governments have grown, so have their access to big money. Political leaders now hold life-and-death fiscal power over people and businesses.

Most states’ legislatures were designed to be part-time, citizens’ deliberative bodies. The harvest schedules of old agrarian societies were a reason. So were comparatively modest government budgets.

Absolute power corrupts absolutely.  And if the Sheep are so ignorant and/or don’t care about the corruption and abuse of power, that only exacerbates the problem.  We can see that in the fact that corrupt, indicted politicians keep getting elected over and over again no matter what the scandal and that others, mostly Dimocraps, can get way with virtually anything and still stay in office.  The examples are endless.  The Federal and most state governments have become overrated, overfunded, bloated, corrupt bureaucracies that have little to do with actually governing and more to do with socialism and communism, despite what is written in the US Constitution about the power of governments.

Bank bailout funds could be used for Detroit

Sources: White House warning GOP senators Wall Street bailout funds might be used for automakers now that auto loan package has failed.

WASHINGTON (CNN) — The proposal to loan $14 billion to Detroit’s struggling automakers collapsed late Thursday night but the Big Three may get some money anyway.

Bush officials warned wavering GOP senators that if they didn’t support the legislation, the White House will likely be forced to tap the Wall Street bailout to lend them money, two Republican congressional officials told CNN earlier.

This is a noteworthy change since the White House and Treasury Secretary Henry Paulson have previously refused to use bank bailout funds to help General Motors (GM, Fortune 500), Ford Motor (F, Fortune 500) and Chrysler LLC.

Well, whoever gets my tax money for nothing, it is still a waste and wrong for the government to get involved with either industry.  So instead of throwing my money away at failed banks and greedy bankers, they throw it away at failed industries and greedy unions.  It doesn’t matter, either way they take from the poor and give to the rich, connected, and greedy.

U.S. Cities Brace for Mumbai-Style Attack

Newsmax

U.S. cities are racing to fix security vulnerabilities revealed by the devastating terror attacks in Mumbai, and many hotels remain “sitting ducks,” experts tell Newsmax.

Security personnel around the country are intensively reviewing what happened to Mumbai to learn more about terrorists’ shifting tactics, according to Fred Burton, vice president of counter-terrorism at Stratfor, a private intelligence firm located in Austin, Texas.

“The study has already begun,” Burton tells Newsmax. “I’m seeing that from a lot of our channels, and I am answering a lot of questions myself in that regard.”

The best way to protect us from a “Mumbai-Style Attack” is to let us keep our guns as guaranteed by the US Constitution.  If ordinary citizens in Mumbai would’ve been packing, they would have been better able to defend themselves and the carnage would not be nearly so great.

Powell: GOP ‘polarization’ backfired in election

Powell: GOP ‘polarization’ backfired in election

(CNN) — The Republican party must stop “shouting at the world” and start listening to minority groups if it is to win elections in the 21st century, former Secretary of State Colin Powell said Thursday.

In an interview with CNN’s Fareed Zakaria for Sunday’s “GPS” program, President Bush’s former secretary of state said his party’s attempt “to use polarization for political advantage” backfired last month.

<snip>

“Can we continue to listen to Rush Limbaugh?” Powell asked. “Is this really the kind of party that we want to be when these kinds of spokespersons seem to appeal to our lesser instincts rather than our better instincts?”

Why do we care anything at all about what this RINO has to say?  He needs to go ahead and cross over to the Dark Side, I mean the Dimocrap Side, and get the heck out of the GOP.  He has and continues to give us a bad name.  Either that or we should just kick his butt out and let him go play his footsies game with Hussein.  Heck, Hussein owes him a cabinet post or something for his election endorsement.  Let this traitorous, treacherous turncoat go on with that and stop tearing apart the Republican Party.  Or is that his ultimate plan?

Salvato: Barack Obama: Neither Oblivious Nor Deceptive

By Frank Salvato
December 12, 2008

Death by a thousand cuts. That is exactly what is happening to President-Elect Barack Obama’s credibility as he and his campaign continue to abuse the “plausible deniability” political tactic. As the list of radicals, political opportunists and ethically challenged elected officials that Mr. Obama portends not to know continues to grow, the voters who believed they voted for “hope” and “change” are starting to realize that the promise of an Obama presidency, well, it isn’t so much…

Admittedly, I did not vote for Barack Obama to be President of the United States. I didn’t support him not because of the color of his skin (in fact I would have voted for Michael Steele or even Ward Connerly should they have decided to run and made it to the ballot). I didn’t support Mr. Obama because of tangible reasons that included three significant facts:

Anybody with even modest intelligence should know by now that Hussein is corrupt to the core, just given his seedy and hidden (covered-up) background, his seedy and controversial (anti-American) contacts, and his liberal (neo-Communist) past voting record.  However much of the US voting public does not even measure up to modest intelligence since they voted for this scumbag anyway.  Salvato is right when he says this is what they voted for.

Report: Jackson backers sought cash for Ill. gov.

By AP STAFF
Associated Press

CHICAGO (AP) — Businessmen with ties to both Illinois Gov. Rod Blagojevich and U.S. Rep. Jesse Jackson discussed raising $1 million for Blagojevich to help persuade him to appoint Jackson to President-elect Barack Obama’s vacant Senate seat, according to a published report.

Citing unnamed sources, the Chicago Tribune reports in a story for Friday’s editions that businessman Raghuveer Nayak and Blagojevich aide Rajinder Bedi told attendees at an Oct. 31 meeting that they needed to raise the money for the governor to ensure Jackson’s appointment.

“Raghu said he needed to raise a million for Rod to make sure Jesse got the seat,” an unidentified source who attended the meeting told the Tribune. Blagojevich also attended the meeting, which was sponsored by Nayak, an Oak Brook businessman.

Jesse, Jr. isn’t going to be able to wash his hands of this one.  Frankly I am amazed that the biased, liberal MSM is going into such a feeding frenzy on a corrupt Dimocrap.  That I did not expect.  Usually they shield, hide, and protect them, such as in the case of Hussein.  I guess there were no more Republicans to attack since we are now such a minority power, so they had to go after a Dimocrap or go hungry.  Either that or the scale of this corruption scandal was so great that even they could not afford to hide or ignore it.  Still I am amazed at the ferocity, or greed or hunger, they display in going after it.  Maybe it will be open season on Dimocraps now.  Hopefully.
